Cote Cottage was a very cozy cottage located outside Settle. Although it was on the main road, the road noise was very minimal; didn't disturb us at all. The cottage had a fantastic sitting room and kitchen. The cottage is right down the hill from walking paths into the Yorkshire Dales park. Although there wasn't much in the village, a short drive either way took you to plenty of restaurants, pubs, and shopping centers. Couldn't be happier.

The cottage itself was absolutely adorable! So quaint, but with everything you could possibly ask for and the comfiest of beds!
Initially, we were worried about it being situated on such a busy road! But in all honesty, once inside, we honestly weren't aware of the traffic at all.

The cottage was lovely and clean with a cosy feel. We slept really well in a comfy bed.
The cottage was well situated for exploring surrounding villages and Settle itself. A five minutes walk brings you to the very welcoming Maypole pub; nice food!
I was worried that parking might be an issue but we had no problems.

Such a lovely, cosy cottage. Home away from home. Very comfy beds. Perfect location to explore the Yorkshire Dales. Fabulous shower! Thank-you for a wonderful stay.
That we couldn't stay longer! 😞

Decorated lovely.
Instructions for all appliances was helpful.
Bathroom nice and spacious
Lack of beds after owner saying they'd put extra bed in for us but didn't. Left us uncomfortable and disappointed. No apology.
Noisy main road, even throughout the night. Not owners fault but should be warned and provide/recommend ear plugs. Had to have windows open as too hot, no fan provided but luckily brought our own.
Downstairs window bolted shut or wide open for anyone to climb in off street so couldn't get any air at night. No back door or window in the back/kitchen. So got stuffy and hot. Would be great in winter.
Parking not great.
Mattress on top floor bedroom springy and uncomfortable.
Kettle disgusting, limescaley, had been told by previous holidayers in guest book but not done anything about it.

Cosy, good location, 👍
The kitchen surfaces were sticky, we couldn't use the kettle as it tainted the drinks. The sofa was extremely uncomfortable and when we went to adjust the cushions there was huge amounts of food debris under them. Also you are asked to strip the beds on departure, the mattress and pillow protects in the main bedroom had some undesirable stains on them. The attic bed was very uncomfortable. The Terrace needed a good old clean also before use and is only accessible via the path round the side of the house. Saying all this we still enjoyed our stay. Lovely cottage just needed a few tweaks of improvements.

The cottage was beautiful and homely. I loved the spiral staircase and the kitchen had everything you needed. The soundproof walls were brilliant as the cottage is on a busy road. The bathroom was clean and spacious and the bath was deep. Met the next door neighbour who was friendly. The location was excellent to explore the areas surrounding the cottage.
The front door stuck a little each time on entering and took a while to open. The kettle was filthy and full of timescale so we used a pan for our brews.
The single bed in the attic is not very comfy.
My friend noticed something under the settee and we found a stray dummy. Lamp behind the settee was full of dust and hadn't been cleaned for a while.

The cottage was beautiful. It had some lovely character features. It is well equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, a well equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer. The beds were super comfortable. There was lots of storage for bags and cases. Iron and board provided. Hairdryers in rooms. It was clean and presented well. There was always plenty of parking. We parked on the road to the side and up the hill a little. The views were incredible.
The cottage is near a busy road. You can’t hear the traffic if the windows are closed but I like to sleep with a window open. A fan solved the problem

Location was great for our Trek 26 walk for Alzheimer's, just a short drive to Malham. it is well situated to both Settle & Skipton. Property was clean and well maintained.
Had to park a bit of a distance away , not too much of a problem, but would possibly be an issue for anyone with mobility issues.

Great location and generally well appointed.
Everything worked.
The only dining table is a small breakfast bar, with bar stools that are way too tall, meaning it’s impossible to sit with legs underneath the bar.
Cleaning was ok, but not great. The oven needed a good clean and there were biscuit wrappers strewn on the floor and under the bed.
Pans - only 1 proper saucepan provided, which had a broken handle. Tiny old frying pan and 2 small milk pans… that’s it.
The so-called outside dining area was quite comical - 2 rickety chairs covered in algae and no back door to get access to them.

It was a lovely cosy cottage with a homely feel and modern fixtures
I found the road outside to be a little bit busy and noisy but I’m used to road noises so it didn’t bother me too much

It was compact but had everything we needed! Nearby to some great places like the waterfall walk at Ingleton and Settle. Lovely local walks and a nearby, amazing pizza place called Rind. Recommend the journey to the Wensleydale Creamery and Hawes.

Wonderful time at East Cote, the owners arranged a birthday surprise for my partner and the facilities were great. Awesome communication and a very homely feel. Will definitely be staying again

Not far away
No back door to terrace. Settee collapsed. Cold coming in through the door and window and sticky table top which my bag stuck to. Dirty used baking trays in the cupboard and horrendous traffic noise.

Very cute and cosy, clean and tidy throughout, everything you need is supplied for the kitchen with some thoughtful touches like milk, tea and coffee. Beds comfy and the shower and bathroom amazing.
Road is noisy but didn’t affect us. Parking is tricky as the lane is quite dark but again wasn’t a major issue.

We had a really comfortable stay, the cottage was well equipped. The location was great to get straight out into the Dales and get walking. The village is very cute and we had a lovely meal at the Maypole with excellent customer service. Overall excellent value for money.
Noise from the road: it is on a busy main road so expect some traffic noise. There were a couple of things that weren’t super clean but we realise that we were an unexpected, last minute booking and didn’t majorly detract from our stay.

Clean, comfy, very cosy. Beds very comfortable. Perfect place to stay whilst we did the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge.
It is on a busy road, but the noise didn’t bother us too much - plus there are some very good ear plugs in the bedside drawer.
Our only real issue was the parking. Mainly because of the very rude bloke who lives at Cromwell House. We parked respectfully (as requested by the host) and had him banging on our door and shouting at us about blocking his drive (which we really weren’t - we guessed he just doesn’t like seeing cars from his window!). Ironically where he told me to actually park would have completely blocked his drive! This isn’t the fault of the hosts of the property though and I cannot fault them at all.

Very cosy and comfortable, good base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, overall good experience
It’s not actually in Settle, it’s about 3 miles away in Long Preston. Cottage is on a busy main road, with heavy lorry traffic. Some rather quirky plumbing and internet speed very slow (although latter may be fault of location rather than set up in cottage). Watch out for nesting crows when parking your car on the hill!

Cottage was finished of nicely and there was tin foil, wading up liquid which helped.
Parking, it was up hill. To avoid birds nests and your car having 20 bird pooos on you had to park even further away.
there are signs saying not to park on the green but the neighbours do and even block the pavement to the cottage.
