The location

The booking procedure was an awful experience. Adriagate, the owners of Marina apt, pushed us to go outside booking.com and then went on to charge us more. Unprofessional and rude. They kept bombarding us with emails, claiming payments we did not own them. The apt are barely equiped, there is even no water kettle. The shower was broken, mosquito nets with holes, rubish everywhere. We never saw the hosts. They are plenty other apt around, no need to go through the unpleasant experience we had.

Excellent view on the bay. Very comfortable bed. Nice terrace.

Very bad smell from bathroom. Poor kitchen equipment. Inadequate terrace wardrobe dryer. AC is too far from the bedroom.

A simple and comfortable solution for staying on Lastovo

Huge two-room apartment, good location both in terms of immediate surroundings and position on the island, friendly hosts. The hosts also run a restaurant in the lower levels of the same house where the apartment is in, which is convenient when you're hungry. Some reviews mention the noise form the sailors, but they were noisy only one of my five nights there, and it was enough to close the balcony door to cancel the noise. All in all, I can recommend this place and I would stay there again.

This is already a good place to stay in, but what it lacks to get a really top rating is some basic, inexpensive details. The bathroom lacks a shelf in the shower to put your shampoo or soap or whatever you use, and there are no hooks or shelves in it to put clothes on (not a problem for me as I was alone, but if you travel with somebody in front of who you don't want to hop around naked - say a friend, sibling or children - it's a nuisance). There should be more shelves around in general, if I went with somebody we would have to pile our stuff on top of each other. There was only one kitchen rag and sponge, no sponge cloth, no paper towels or napkins, no bowl for making cereal or a small knife for peeling vegetables and cutting fruit. All easily attainable, small stuff that definitively will not spoil your stay and didn't bother me enough to ask about, but would make a difference. The only thing that cannot be easily fixed is that you have to go down quite a lot of stairs to get from the road/parking down to the apartment, and up again when you're going somewhere. This was a nuisance to me as I was traveling by bike which I had to haul up and down every time I went riding, otherwise it's no problem if you're in average shape or better. It's the same situation with most of the other places in the bay.
