We had a lovely stay at Hjelledalen Hyttesenter. The cottage was small, cosy, comfortable, and surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. One of the highlights was experiencing a traditional Norwegian cottage with a sod (grass) roof for the first time. It was something we had only seen in photos before and added a unique charm to our stay. We loved the peaceful atmosphere, fresh mountain air, and beautiful views all around the property. Waking up to the stunning valley and mountains made this one of the most memorable stays of our Norway trip. A perfect place for anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing Norwegian cabin experience.

The cottage had basic cooking facilities, but there was no salt or sugar available. As we had planned to cook our own meals and did not bring these items with us, it would have been helpful if a small supply had been provided for guests. Another thing to note is that it can get quite cold at night even during summer, which is understandable given the mountain location and natural surroundings. Future guests may wish to bring warm sleepwear, especially if they are visiting during cooler months. These were only minor inconveniences, and they did not take away from the overall charm and enjoyment of our stay.

Good location just below the mountains.

The mattress needs to be changed as it’s worn out. What a pity that we couldn’t sleep good at night. We got back pain from the mattress.

the location is very nice.

they have flies inside. we never thought that the unit we got is above the reception. i thought that we got one of the white cabins. it was not clear in the booking. they dont have microwave int the cabin we stayed in.
