Dar Alya Essaouira Maison et table d'hôtes

Nice quiet location, not far from a few good restaurants and less than 15 mins drive to Medina of Essaouira. The charming French owner Sophie and her small team are very hospitable and helpful. Room was comfortable and spacious, with a nice private terrace where a delicious local fresh breakfast was served. Pool and gardens were well maintained.

Nothing. Although not a negative, I would suggest you do need a car to visit Essaouira and see something of the area or visit some nearby restaurants.

Magnifique écrin à Essaouira ! Un séjour absolument parfait chez Dar Alya. Sophie, la propriétaire, est aux petits soins et veille à chaque détail avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de professionnalisme. Tout était impeccable, de la propreté à la qualité des prestations. La maison est superbe, décorée avec énormément de goût, on s’y sent immédiatement bien. Je recommande vivement cet endroit pour un séjour inoubliable !

Dar Alya Essaouira Maison is a truly gorgeous property that feels like a peaceful sanctuary just 15 minutes from the centre of Essaouira. The setting is calm and beautifully designed, making it the perfect place to unwind. Sophie was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The facilities were excellent, particularly the pool area and the thoughtfully designed rooms, which had a lovely, relaxed aesthetic. We also went for dinner just down the road at an amazing pizza restaurant, there are also a handful of other restaurants and beautiful boutiques nearby. A special mention to the onsite animals – a couple of friendly cats and dogs – which were a really nice touch and added to the homely, laid-back atmosphere.

The room was quite warm and felt a bit stuffy, with no fan or cooling available. Leaving the windows open helped, but meant bugs would come in. Not a negative as such, but something to be aware of: the on-site team mainly speaks French. If you only speak English, you may need to rely on translation apps to communicate.

Notre séjour chez Sophie était juste incroyable ! Des notre arrivée, nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison. Sophie est au petits soins! L’endroit est juste magnifique, calme et reposant. La musique de très bon goût dans le jardin la journée. Et tout y est pour passer un séjour reposant: la piscine, les coins cocoon pour être tranquille. Nous étions dans la chambre Stella qui est ++ contrairement à certains commentaires! Ne vous y fiez donc pas. Le petit-déjeuner et le personnel est également génial et souriant ! Bref, on reviendra, c’est sûr 🫶🏻
