A beautiful home staying the perfect location to explore the village

* Nice views of Mount Rinjani on a clear day * Bed reasonably comfortable

* No hot water - the property does actually have hot water, and when I told the owner there was no hot water he said he would call someone to fix it today. When I subsequently asked whether the hot water was fixed, he ignored my messages repeatedly (see screenshot). My feeling is that he knew the hot water was broken, but had zero intentions on fixing it during my stay. I'm fairly used to cold showers in Asia, but when it's cold and raining outside, a cold shower is hard to stomach, * Internet is painfully slow, and often stops working. You’ll stare at your screen for ages losing the will to live waiting for pages to load, and the hours pass and you get very little done. Other places have faster internet - I ended up having to take my laptop to lunch and dinner so I could actually get things booked, and not just stare at my screen waiting for things to load. * Communication upon checkin wasn't great - wasn’t given much information at the start. One improvement would be to write down all the important information and hand to guests upon checkin. * Walls are very thin - hear most things on the other side. * People have commented on the hospitatality they received here, but I certainly didn’t get the same experience. No friendly hellos, or anything like that. * Breakfast gets a little boring - most places I've stayed during my 5 weeks in Indonesia serve a plate of fruit and a fresh juice. Sometimes toast with jam. FYI * Don't arrange a taxi through the homestay. The driver that took me to my next destination drove very fast and at times dangerously. The owner said the price was 350K, but the driver asked for 400K (which I refused). You can get a better transport for 300K in the village.
