Clean place. Owner very responsive. Neighbors are close. Property not perfect but price is not for a perfectly manicured place. We saw 3 bear cubs and mom, lots of deer, and other wildlife. Kitchen small. Has pans, silverware, plates, and basic appliances. Everything you would expect. May want to bring a couple extra "Tupperwear" containers. Lots of space to sleep. Board games, cards, poker chips, etc. Outdoor fireplace and grill. Nice deck to eat on. Lots of places to run, walk, and ride bikes. Tobyhanna beach and park 20 min drive. Swimming, fishing, boat/kayak/canoe rentals. Bushkill Falls 75 minute drive. Great to see but entrance is pricey. Trail has lots of steps. If cost over $60 for two adults and 3 children. Bring camera. Great place for picnic before or after the 2 mile hike. Bathrooms, souvenir shop, restaurant. Fishing. Would probably be a great place to fish for young kids. Claws and paws- worth the price. Can take lunch inside park. Easily spend 3 to 5 hours. If you are there the last hour they are open, you may get to see them feed animals. We watched them feed the wolves. They have a petting section, turtles, cougars, lions, giraffes, among many other animals. Raymondskill falls. Great waterfall to see. Easier hike than Bushkill. My group liked this falls better than Bushkill falls and it is free. Resica Falls. This falls is at the boys out camp. It is right off the parking area. The falls is nice. The area close to the falls is restricted due to boys out and safety issue. Shawnee General store - there is a winery and restaurant as well as a store. They serve root beer floats, have penny candy, flavored butter such as blueberry, honey, and a variety of other things. This is a cool store. Baileys Steak house - great food. Great specials before 6. Steak and salmon dishes were awesome. Wait staff was great. Very reasonably priced. Large portions. 940 golf and fun - minature golf. Nice course. Batting cages great. Also bumper cars, arcade, driving range. Kayaked Delaware River with Edge of the Woods Outfitters. Great time and awesome people. If fishing the river, expect float times to increase by a couple hours.

After reading some of the negative reviews I was hesitant about renting this cabin, however I am very glad I did. I had no issues with the owner and the cabin is exactly as described. The location is close to the slopes and water parks. Additionally, there is a cheap diner nearby where you can get bacon, eggs and pancakes for under $3! Also, I cleaned the cabin and was fully refunded. Definitely would stay here again.

We spent three days in this quaint cabin and were pleased to find it clean and ready for our arrival. The cabin is conveniently located between two ski resorts and close to grocery stores and other retail shops. All the amenities worked (kitchen, fireplace, etc). Greg was quick and concise with communication. Overall a great stay!

Although everything turned out ok in the end, my experiences with the owner of this cabin created more stress around our vacation than necessary. This really surprised me because of the many great reviews. My boyfriend, our dog, and I stayed here for the week. This was a last minute booking and I was excited to find a place with so many reviews that allowed dogs. Everything with the cabin was great-- exactly as the other reviewers have stated. My biggest disappointment was learning the amenities in the community require an additional large fee. Eek! This information was not disclosed until after paying for the cabin. We found a great pubic beach at Gouldsboro State Park. But as the Poconos are huge, everything is about a 25 minute drive. For the booking fee, the owner tried to direct off VRBO and to use Pay-pal Friends and Family. By using this option you are giving up any rights to purchase protection. The owner explained that it saves him the fee by booking in this manor. Through additional emails, I felt like I was being bullied into paying cash. After our vacation was over, we received an email stating that our security deposit was being withheld because he was disappointed in the condition we left the house. In the same email he stated he was charged a fee because I booked with a credit card. Now, I admit, there was light vacuuming to be done when we left. But, we didn't even use the two bedrooms or the kitchen. So why was our deposit really withheld? Of course this was upsetting. I sent an email reminding him we paid the dog fee upfront, and nothing was broken, or out of place. And the fees occurred on his side of the booking process were agreed upon when he signed the contract with VRBO. In the end we received full refund of the security deposit. I hope some of you out there have read this long review to the end. This was a really great trip, but will forever be tainted by an owner who stressed me out because he did not want to pay his fees.
