Perfect location only 200 meters from clock tower,clean bathroom,cheap price ,fast internet,good hot shower and friendly staf

Room very small but it’s ok with bathroom inside.

Extremely friendly Manager. Very accommodating and helpful. The distance is very close to the tourist attraction "Jam Gadang" only about 300m. I will always book this hotel De Kock in the future. I am very happy at the hotel.

hard to find good things: - location: very handy to clock tower square, and all cafes walking etc - hot water is good in room - room with tv enables youtube for entertainment

to give context, i see that many accom of all standard in bukittingi don't get rated well - i had one of the few rooms with external window (just to a nearby wall); most rooms had window to internal corridor - bathroom in room is under a stairwell (like many i could see): prepare to bump your head at toilet; no basin in room - try to do your teeth; wet room - stays wet as floor didn't slope to drain - bed was ordinary: could feel 'pilling' under the sheet, and pulled back to check (photo) - they could put a protector on top to soften - sheets and blanket seem synthetic, get hot easily - and yes next stay confirmed that those sheets didn't have much cotton - floor in room slippery easily with feet water from bathroom - i don't usually find so many things to complain about - but compared to the HOSTEL i had just stayed at in padang, this felt like a 'rent-by-hour' place if you're travelling on to Toba, think about how many nights you really need, as bus departs 5pm. i also noticed that some better hotels have live sign offers 450k incl breakfast for 2 (probably base room) - but worth considering paying a bit more if 2 people travelling - examples hotel monopoli, grand bunda hotel
