Not far from beach, clean and cheap

Noisy if people outside as windows facing courtyard

Enjoyed my stay. I appreciated the many nice touches, like a bidet, mosquito window screens, plugs in the basins, hot water with great pressure, proactive room cleaning and lots of plug points. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Amenities are within reasonable walking distance, so it made for a good base to experience Gisenyi.

The room should not be advertised as "Lake view" because there's no view at all, due to trees along the boundary. However, it is a short walk to the lake so not a deal breaker. Please get a range extender. The internet signal is really weak on the second floor and I sometimes struggled to do online work. It's very quiet on weekdays, but on weekends there's somewhat loud music from surrounding bars that plays into the morning hours. There's also not much to do at the accomodation. Some board games or an entertainment area would be great.

The Musanto hotel is an old, rundown hotel - maybe a 1-star property. Rooms lack fan or AC and the windows face directly onto communal walkways - like a motel. The only way to have privacy is to close the curtains and windows. hardly ideal. The bathrooms are horrible. I looked at the appalling breakfast and decided to eat at a nearby cafe. Really horrible!
