Kore Guest House

We were received by the family that owns the hotel and we felt like we were part of the family. The hotel couldn't be more central (in fact we struggled a bit with our big car in the narrow streets to get there). There's a small parking in front of the hotel, so that was perfect. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay - served in the terrace, everything fresh and homemade. The rooms were comfortable and spacious.

The shower doesn't have a door or curtain so when we showered, the whole bathroom was wet.

The location was fantastic, right out of the range of the sounds of the busy streets of the Bazaar, but close enough that you can get there on foot in 5 minutes. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated, while also having very good air conditioning that helped during the later morning while the sun was very hot outside. The breakfast was some of the best I had in my whole stay in Albania, with one day even getting to try some really tasty fig jam, along with some very nice fried pastries. But to say that's all, would not even come close. Even after having left the accommodation, I had forgotten a linen shirt and when contacting them, they had found it right away and were there to give it as soon as I had arrived. To top it all off, whilst leaving the town, our car's battery ran out of electricity and the husband of the couple came out and came along with some of his friends to jump start our car it with cables that they had also brought. What could have been a very devestating circumstance for our trip, became only a small inconvenience after being saved my their kindness and generosity. These people made me understand how kind Albanian people really are.

From the moment I arrived, I felt completely welcome and at home at Kore Guest House. The hosts were exceptionally warm, attentive and helpful. The accommodation is beautiful, spotlessly clean, comfortable and decorated with great attention to detail. Its location is also perfect for exploring the historic old town of Gjirokastër. The authentic atmosphere and outstanding hospitality made my stay truly special. I would happily return and wholeheartedly recommend Kore Guest House!

There was absolutely nothing to dislike – everything was wonderful.

Great location with neat and tidy rooms. Had everything we needed and no complaints! Little bit quirky - not your plain run of the mill accomodation if that’s something you like or not. Hosts were lovely and helpful.

Could be slightly better signage to find. Easy if coming from one way but hard if coming from the other way.
