Everything was top class, a very hospitable and carefree experience.
A wee bit small bed for two, but that was really nothing serious.

Islay House has a lot of charm and history. The general manager Joao is a super nice guy who gave us a tour of the house and explained about the renovation project that will start soon. This hotel will be a very nice experience in about 3 years.
Excellent breakfast and a nice bar and library area!
The hotel is a bit rund down and is need of renovation, but the rooms are nice and the beds are comfy.

I really can't find fault with anything - yes it needs a bit of updating but that's in the works from what I understand. Staff - John (Joao?) was genuinely a great manager and very professional. Breakfast was really nice too. The building is simply beautiful dating back to 1677.
Nothing really - no elevators so stairs could be an issue for some people.

Beautiful (faded gentility) house in a lovely location.
Room was lovely.
Bed comfy
Unfortunately the boiler had broken down earlier in the day, so there was no hot water or heating, so couldn’t shower before we left.
Continental breakfast only.
