Old Wagon Ridge is a newly built cabin located off an old fire road built by the CCC's (Civilian Conservation Corp) in the early 1930's. It sits in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains on 6 acres of land. There are miles of private mountain roads to hike to enjoy wild life and nature. Our community offers local wineries, Lake Arrowhead for hiking, fishing, and paddle boating, The Shenandoah River offers tubing and kayaking. The Shenandoah National Park offers endless wildlife, wilderness, and beauty only a 20-minute drive to the Thornton Gap entrance. 14-minute to Luray Caverns, 15-minute drive to The George Washington National Forest Storybook Trail, 45-minute drive to Massanutten Resort.

Please be advised you have rented a mountainous property. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, the driveway is a gravel or hard packed dirt surface. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing their property from these roads as long as you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.

The cabin was beautiful and clean. The view is incredible! Loved the fire pit and hot tub! The hosts were wonderful. Homemade apple butter and bread waiting for us. Will rent again!

Coming around that bend to see that beautiful cabin with the mountains in the background was a sigh of relief the moment we arrived.
Just married, my wife and I were really looking forward to this trip away from the craziness of the past few weeks. We entered the building simply enough and it was extremely clean inside, WITH everything we needed to maintain that cleanliness during our stay. We had brought some stuff with us but were pleased to find resources already available.
The owners were wonderful and came to greet us shortly after we had arrived. They were pleasant and kind people who gave us an amazing welcome gift as a thank-you for choosing them and their cabin.
Everything worked just as advertised. A big selling point for us was the hot tub. It worked perfectly fine, didn't have any sort of gross film, and had a front-row seat to an expansive view of the sky and mountains.
There's plenty to do in the local town of Luray, and good lord is the food good here. There are so many locally-owned restaurants and they can COOK man.
My recommendations
1. Ollies, their fries are fantastic.
2. Anthony's will deliver to the cabin and their stromboli was great.
3. Alexanders had a great breakfast.
But the Birdsong pleasure garden is 0 the place to go if you have time. You have to call and make an appointment, but the couple who run it are very pleasant and it is one the most beautiful places you'll ever see.
All in all a great trip, I hope to come back with my kids!
