Owa Lodge Areguling

We had the most wonderful stay at Owa Lodge. The staff were amazingly attentive and kind. We loved that there was a restaurant available for all meals if needed. We hired scooters directly from the Lodge and often rode into Kuta which was around 15-18minutes. Yes the rode is very bumpy as other reviews mentioned, but is still very much driver able by car and scooter and is not something you should worry about when booking this accomodation. Owa Lodge is super close to the surf at Areguling and we will be staying here next time we are in Lombok. Thank you

The OWA place is awesome! We arrived after sunset and it was the same charming as in the morning! We liked everything. Even the bumpy road that leads to the place is part of the local charm :) The breakfast - awesome! The choices, the servings, the quality. We dined in it's restaurant for the dinner and it was the best experience as well. Beautiful room/bungalow, the surrounding garden, the swimming pool. The manager Laurent and each one of the staff are awesome as well! Taxi service was arranged for us, as well as the bikes rental. Thank you, guys!

One of the best places we've stayed on Lombok. The food is really good, the restaurant gets a nice afternoon breeze and the staff is friendly and super accomodating. I couldn't surf due to an ear infection but the waves looked really nice, be it a bit crowded in the daytime. Even without surfing you have plenty to do, like fishing, have some Spa time, going on a scooter ride to Kuta town or towards Mawi where there are some really nice beaches where you can explore the coast or go snorkeling. We had the double room with sea view, but you can't really see the ocean. Still, it's a nice higher up room with a nice pool view and a bit more breeze coming in. When booking a massage, I recommend checking the prayer call times and plan around that.

About Owa, I have zero things I didn't like. But, I booked a fishing trip through Owa and found it way too expensive for what you get (1mil idr for 1 person). I guess it gets cheaper when you go jigging with a larger group but then it's still too expensive. The boat is not equiped so well, the captain showed up about an hour late in the morning and speaks zero english making it quite hard to really get the most out of the experience. He tried though and with google translate we managed a bit. For reference; I did another, much longer fishing trip in the north of the island for less than half the money with a much more skilled fisherman/captain and way better boat. Luckily, I brought my own gear on the boat and managed to catch a bluefin travelly which was then bbq'ed really nicely by the staff at Owa so in the end it was still a nice experience.
