I spent 5 days in Saas Grund, a nice small town near Saas Fee. Zermatt was not far away.

I was able to prepare meals for myself. The apartment was close to the grocery store. While the landlady did not speak english, it was easy to communicate with a translation app.

Good value for Switzerland but a budget property compared to other countries.

We enjoyed it because it wasn’t Saas Fee (bit too touristy for us). Close to bus stop. If you are here for hiking and just want a bed for the night and to be able to cook something then this place will suit you.

WARNING Bring your own toilet paper, soap, shampoo and shower gel. This is NOT supplied. We think it must be a „Swiss Thing“. We have never come across this in our extensive travelling around Europe. Our recommendation to the owners is to charge a few francs more and do the right thing and supply toiletries.

I would be happy to visit again, the value for money is exceptional.

The studio has all that one needs for a nice stay and a good relaxation after a day of skiing. It is only 100 meters from a bus-stop. The host is very nice and helpful.

The only bemol is that the host does not speak English and my German is very rudimentary. ;)

Good value for money and very kind hosts.

Location was good and the appartment had everything we needed. Walking distance to ski lift was good and the double bed was perfect for two family members. Ski equipment could be stored downstairs. Car could be parked on property.

Wifi reception was bad and required login multiple times. On booking.com it stated that dishwasher was available but there wasn't one.

Great skiing base

A great base for a short skiing break. Warm and comfortable with everything we needed.Host Imseng came out late at night in the snow to guide us to the apartment. Good transport links, we came by train and bus.

Great accommodation, would definitely recommend

Very clean, very functional, easy check in and check out. You also get a city card that lets you use cable cars in the area for free during the summer as well as other offers.

Not specific to this accommodation but be aware the city tax is 7 chf per person per night. Also, not a minus but keep in mind that while the check in/out was smooth, the landlady only speaks German, so knowing a few phrases in German is very useful.

Clean, friendly, good location, good heating, good road in winter, all necessary for kitchen, small nice decoration things. Would advice for a long time stay. Near to Matterhorn in Zermatt. Price was very good with conditions. View was so nice, will visit this place anyway with this hotel. Parking just in front of apartments. Close to local cable car.

Small and a little dated but perfectly clean studio with nice value

For a two nights stay in Saas-Grund we got what we expected. Small but cozy studio with a little dated decor and equipment (except renovated bathroom) but spotless clean and well taken care of. It is a 10 minutes walk from the town centre and Saas-Grund - Kreuzboden Gondelbahn. The accommodation comes with a SaastalCard for all guest which is a great benefit if you want to use buses or (almost all) lifts in the area of Saas-Fee for free. This definitely increases the value. The owner, Ms. Imseng, was really helpful and we are thankful that she didn't have a problem to accomodate us in late evening since we had a delay during the journey. She communicate in German only but since she had an understanding for my basic level of German we were able to solve and communicate everything. Even though it is near the main town road, it is quiet in the night and the rustle of a nearby stream is really relaxing. The building itself is absolutely quiet.

The cleaning fee (which is a part of the total price) is quite high (45 CHF for a stay) so the more nights you stay the significantly lower the price per night is. There is no Wi-Fi which is quite unpleasant for guests from EU since the providers from EU usually don't apply EU No-Roaming rules in Switzerland and data in Swiss are usually quite expensive. So the Wi-Fi would be handy at least to be able to check the weather forecast etc. Fortunatelly we had basic data available in our "emergency" Swiss Data Package from our provider we used to check forecast during hiking/climbing so it was not such an issue, but it might be an important information for other guests.
