An interesting manoir

It was a charming property. The grounds are extensive with plenty of parking. My room was quite sufficient for my one night stay, and the host was very friendly. It was an interesting stay.

The wooden stair bannisters felt a bit unsteady, and the overhead shower was not contained by a screen or curtain. It was easy to misdirect water to the floor. It is better to use the bath.

This is an interesting place to stay, especially if you like stuffed African animals.

A noble house conveniently set just outside Saint Aignan, with its many restaurants. Our room and bathroom were spacious and well-furnished, with a view over the garden to the river. Our host was shy at first, but charming as we got to know her a bit better.

Our room was 'in the process of redecoration' and there was a feeling that it's a struggle to maintain the building and garden.

Very welcoming host who allowed us to check in late. We enjoyed the unique style of the accommodation and the beautiful location on the riverside. Quiet room with a comfortable bed. Very clean and spacious room and ensuite. Copious continental breakfast included in the price.

We would have liked to have been given the WiFi code to use in the room on arrival, and for there to be extra sockets for charging our phones. The bed was a bit squeaky!

Very disappointing given the positive reviews

Good location. Nice old building

Very tired, cheaply renovated, cheap fittings. No tea/ coffee facilities or water in room. Other than being shown to the room no contact, no offer of refreshments on arrival. Asked for breakfast approx 8:15. Arrived at outside table 8:30. Breakfast has obviously been there since 8:15. Coffee luke warm, flies enjoying the bread and croissants. Very disappointing, it could be so much better.

Cosy B&B for a short stay in the area

Breakfast is generous, we never finished ours. Location is very convenient, just outside of the town centre (where all the restaurants are) and a 10-minute away driving from the zoo. The host is very welcoming. It was always a pleasure to chat with her during our stay.

nous avons aimé l'extérieur et l'intérieur de la demeure et nous avons beaucoup aimé l'accueil prodigué par les propriétaires eux-mêmes...le petit déjeuner nous a également été servi par le propriétaire si notre voyage de vacances nous ramène à nouveau dans cette belle région, nous reviendrons certainement dans ce manoir

Un très bon moment

Le manoir est au-delà du beau. Ancien mais élégant, il incarne à merveille le charme britannique du XXᵉ siècle dans toute sa splendeur. Le cadre est ravissant, situé au bord d’une rivière qui ajoute une touche de sérénité au lieu. L’hôte fait preuve d’une générosité intellectuelle sans égal — un véritable plaisir d’échanger avec lui. La nuit fut d’une douceur exquise, portée par une literie si confortable qu’on aimerait y rester un peu plus longtemps au matin. Le petit-déjeuner se prend dans le salon, agréablement chauffé spécialement pour nous en ce mois d’octobre. Chocolatines et croissants tout juste sortis du four, café à profusion, jus de pomme et d’orange : un moment de pur bonheur, rendu encore plus appréciable par les attentions délicates de notre hôte.

Belle demeure atypique, pleine de charme et d’histoire. Notre hôtesse était très gentille et accueillante. De notre chambre, nous avions une vue magnifique sur le Cher et le jardin. Petit déjeuner excellent et copieux.
