The Boatel is an unusual and interesting place to stay and Captain Sven is a great host. Breakfast is excellent. We loved being on the water and so close to Ghent’s historic centre.
The property is lovely but there is construction work happening nearby which started early each morning.

Captain Sven was accommodating to my late night check-in request and very helpful with train information to Bruges and Brussels. I slept comfortably at night - the room didn't feel small at all, I had everything I needed and it was quiet. Breakfast has bread, fruits, egg, yogurt, cheese and cured meat, nothing fancy but a good variety.
Mostly convenient location but not quite city center - takes 15 minutes to walk there. The town should be relatively safe but it was quiet when I walked back at night.

Great fun , Sven amazing and helpful host, lovely breakfast. Great location. Wonderful on the terrace in the evening.
