Good for a couple of days

- The owner is very nice - The location - The balcony

Horrendous

Close to bus

bathroom and kitchen were disgusting, aircon didn’t work in the lounge room, got woken up with man asking for money for the use of washing machine, 10 euros to wash clothes yourself, rip off.

Spacious Lockers and Good Location

The hostel is within walking distance from the bus station. The locker in the room is very large—big enough to potentially fit two carry-on-sized bags. There is air conditioning. The owner offers airport transfer for €25. (If you’re looking for a cheaper option, a regular taxi might be better.) There is space on the balcony to hang laundry, although I didn’t use it as I only stayed one night.

The owner does not speak much English. The toilet and shower lacked cleanliness—they didn’t seem to be cleaned with much care. There are no power outlets at each bed.

Upon arriving rang door bell and owner lives on ground level, shown how to use fob to unlock front door and then headed up to my dorm. I was only one during my stay. Short walk to bus/train stations and not very far from center.

Kitchen was very basic with cooking equipment, sadly all hot drink contaniners where empty. Apartment does heat up quickly, but A/C seems to help

Friendly host

I was the only traveller so got upgraded to a private room. The host was very nice and let me pay the next day as I didn't have cash when I arrived. The kitchen has decent equipment and the whole place had aircon available which was helpful because without that it was very cold.

The hostel was very cold without aircon. Only one bathroom so I imagine it would be challenging with more than 1 or 2 guests staying. The kitchen wasn't the cleanest but it was manageable. The location was very close to the bus station but not ideal for getting into the city center. Could've used a light near the bed as the only light was the big overhead one.

Bang for your buck (or euro)

Great location near shops, city center, main bus station, in a quiet area, and at a very fair price compared to other options in this area of Podgorica. It's a safe and welcoming place with even a free map of the immediate area to help navigate the surroundings. If you're looking for a decent place to stay a few nights or especially a quick one night stay in the city as you pass thru then I recommend this establishment and it's great host Dino and family.

Stairs...not a fan of them (I travel with heavy luggage) but at least I was on the 2nd floor so it wasn't too bad.

Just the location

Its not really worth the price, for same amount you could stay in a private clean new flat a bit out of city center. Everything is dusty and bathroom was dirty, pillows smell and overall apartment had bad smell of cigarettes.

The location is good since is close to the bus station.

We arrived at night and the main door was broken. The place is old, not very clean and there was no staff at all to help or give any info!!The result was that we had to have a cold shower since there was no sign explaining that we had to leave the boiler on for 3 HOURS l! Before the bath. The price is not worth at all. It is like a 2 star hostel...

A perfect place to stay for the night - location was handy for the bus station and also easy walking distance from central Podgorica. The bed was comfortable and the room came with large lockers.

It was hard to find the reception upon entering the building as there was very little signage.

Disappointing

Great location, close to restaurants.

The hostel is way too expensive for what it is. Literally everything lacked cleaning, I was scared of touching anything... The bathroom was dirty... It was also cold, I couldn't find the radiator. Thank God I only stayed for one night. I chose this hostel because it's 5 min from the bus station but honestly next time I would book a better hostel even if it's further.

Stay anywhere else

Location was okay - but only because Podgorica is so small everywhere’s location is ok. Sharing nightmare stories with fellow guests is pretty funny.

Unfortunately most things. It’s dirty (there’s old stuff/trash in the bathroom), rooms are nothing like pictured (very uncomfortable thin fold out bed instead of a double bed that I booked) - when I told them about the problem they gave me a choice of a more expensive room, a tiny room with no AC in the scorching heat, or a dorm bed (with AC). I chose the dorm bed but they refused to refund me the difference in cost.

Good value and good place to stay

This hostel is actually a private owned family business. very convenient, quite and calm place is just 5 minutes away from the Podgorica main bus, train station and Mall of Montenegro (hotel Ramada). Anybody can go to airport (aerodrom) from train station, for only 1.20€ . I will definitely recommend this place.

The son of the owner always force you not to lock doors even I was the only guest in that floor.

Exceptional

Such an unbelievable positive vibe! This is why I stay in hostels :) The place has a huge common space with a balcony (view on the mountains, even though it is slam down in the middle of the center), where you can meet other guests and have interesting conversations till deep in the night. The host is a wonderful guy always ready to answer all your questions and full of useful tips. The common room has many facilities, (though I didn't need them) which by now are lacking in many hostels, such as a printer to print out tickets and such. Well-equiped kitchen, the bathroom even has a bidet and there are comfy beds (which were made-up every day, also not that common in hostels), fresh towels every day, and lockers big enough to put in your backpack plus extras. The place is super-clean, the host takes a lot of care of everything (I noticed him cleaning almost all the time :) ) And of course it is crawling distance from the bus station, which also makes traveling around this part of Montenegro (or further away) very easy

The hostel is situated in the pedestrian area in the historical centre and city centre of Podgorica. The room and the bathroom is comfortable and well-equipped. The staff is very helpful. I enjoyed staying in Explorer Hostel, and satisfied with everything. I highly recommend this place.

Great overnight stay. With air conditioning!!!

The location was perfect. Right next to the train and bus station. The bed was very comfortable. I was a female traveling alone in a 4 bed room. There was 2 guys staying there and everyone was polite and tried to be as quiet as possible. The room had lockers that fit large luggage and everything else I brought which was amazing! The host was very nice and responsive when my flight was 2 hrs late. Biggest thing was they had a split AC!! So important in. Podgorica! I would definitely stay again.

The bathroom could be nicer but not a big deal. It was clean and functional.

Nice and helpful staff :)

The apartment was clean and the staff was super nice and helpful :) they let me keep my bag in the hostel while I visited the city which was a life saver as the weather was very hot.

The bathroom is not at all what it shows in the photos, it needs to be updated.

A nice stay near bus terminal and train station

The receptionist is very helpful. The hostel is not far from bus terminal and train station. There is a small supermarket nearby. A traditional restaurant is also near.

I would recommend to reach out to hostel if you arrive late.
