Vrissiana Boutique Beach Hotel

We had the front sea view room which was great and huge balcony with sunlongers - room was really night and airy - small balcony for more shade when v hot and large balcony for when you want to sit int he sun

Bathrooms could do with an upgrade - bit tatty in places and fixings very basic - I get the gist the rooms have been renovated over the past year or two and the bathrooms not been updated at the same time

We didn't actually get to stay in for a Vrissiana Boutique Beach Hotel as the hotel cancelled our stay and moved us next door to another Tsokkos hotel, so my review is for Costantino the Great which is the sister hotel right next door. It is well located and right on the beach, the beach bar was very handy too. Close to bars and restaurants. We were half board but decided to just get a starter as we thought the dinners were mediocre and ate out instead every night. The room was very spacious. The porter by reception was very friendly and greeted us each time we left and returned to the hotel. The derelict town Famagusta is worth a visit.

There were no fluffy white towels they were grey and old. I didn't like putting dirty toilet paper in the bin but I guess this is how it is done there. The seating in lounge area on the ground floor where the pool table is are very grubby. The maid service was very hit and miss, sometimes they wouldn't come in and when they did they'd forget to leave teabags or empty the bin. There are cats everywhere in Protaras including hanging around outside the hotel, luckily my daughter wasn't with us, as she is very afraid of cats. Don't visit the resort if you are afraid/allergic to cats.

24/7 check in with plenty of parking, we arrived at 5am and we were given a token for lunch as we had missed the previous nights dinner which was nice of them. Great pool area with access to the beach. We were half board and found the food to be very nice. Also appreciate the noon checkout!

We asked for a double bed but we just had 2 singles pushed together so would fall into the gap between. No drinks were included with your meal, would have expected at least some water. Breakfast ended at 10 which was a little early for our schedule. The room was quite basic and lacked any additional touches for the price we paid eg robes, smart tv, complimentary snacks etc. Our room also looked directly on an alleyway and the adjoining room were very noisy which kept us awake but we appreciate this wasn’t the hotels fault.

Attention: Our review is for Constantinos (5*), where we were accommodated - we got the notification a few weeks before arrival. We liked the location and the fact that the reception was nice and moved us to rooms that were not so much exposed to noise.

-Food: There were many choices at breakfast and dinner, but it was not tasty. It was average quality, like a 3* hotel. The ham and salami were low quality (a lot of fett) and not fresh, the fried vegetables were soaked in oil, while the coffee did not have any taste. We have not had a good fish at dinner, there was only pangasius, which is really a cheap and unhealthy fish. The green salads were always not fresh/crunchy. -Spa and Gym; It was depressing. One needs urgent renovation of the indoor swimming pool, -Cleanliness: Some bathrooms are old and not cleaned well, the (initially white) towels are gray and look very used. -Noise: There is a lot of noise especially for the rooms located in the open area at any level, as one hears people from the bars at the ground level until 12am. Moreover, there were wedding parties during the working days (!) with loud music until 12am or so. Thus, one could go to sleep only after 12am.
