Casa Oasi

Position was fantastic and home had a great feel living a little tight for a family but perfect for two. Host was lovely and happy to assist our needs. Kitchen was well Equipped and the bottle of wine left was a lovely gesture. Courtyad was beautiful and I loved the authenticity of the place.

Bed were hard and the bathroom toilet did not flush easily also bidet leaked. All which no doubt will be fixed.

The location of Casa Osai is exceptional; we could walk everywhere; the host was fantastic with her greeting and sharing the local sites;

There was nothing that we didnt like

The property is a charming, warmly decorated apartment that feels like a small Italian villa. There is a wonderful large patio that overlooks the water. The apartment is very well equipped and the air conditioning worked well. Laura was very informative and helpful. She even left us a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. The proximity to the Main Street of Taormina is great.

The property is located on a small hill that is a busy side street. There is quite a bit of traffic coming down the narrow street that you have to walk up to get to the center of Taormina with no sidewalks. It was a little unnerving for us as they come around the corner fast. If you come by car you need to park in the garage and walk your luggage to the apartment, slightly uphill and then slightly downhill. The garage parking is not unusual for Taormina and the garage does have an elevator and restrooms.

Location above all was fantastic. very close to the main street. Nice vies of the water, although a but obstructed by neighbouring buildings Apartment was a very good size with a well appointed kitchen Very nice terrace with plenty of furniture and shade. Host was very helpful.

We arrived at midnight after a delayed flight and negotiating the roads from CTA. WE were instructed to use the public car park, but there were no detailed instructions on finding the entry to the car park. As it turned out a bus had blocked the entrance so we ended up driving past the entrance and then had to ring the host. The host did help us with our bags and then helped us find the car park. The apartment needs a bit of freshening up. I fixed a broken shower head, the toilet did not flush easily, limited power points for phone, iPad, computer. The fridge seals need replacing. In the booking.com fine print there was a requirement to pay the full amount in cash. We did not see this or go liking for it as we have never seen such a requirement. So there was a problem with the payment. The host suggested PayPal,, which was Ok with us, but her bank took out a fee, which we then had to reimburse the host !! The experience would be a lot more enjoyable if the host could post Google Maps links to the car park and instructions on how to navigate from the car park to the apartment. A word of advice for those visiting Taormina, (unrelated to the accomodation), it is crowded, very touristy, very expensive, overrun with cruise ship passengers, people hustling you to sit down at their restaurant. If you coming here for a White Lotus experience - think again, there are way better places to visit. Best to venture off the main tourist street !
