The amability and flexibility of the host that allowed me to check- in earlier than expected.
The air conditioning in the flat which made it better to support the heatwave.
The safety of the neighborhood- i could walk around without any issues and the building and flat were secure.
The flat is in the old part of the town and there was quite a bit of noise from the street. I couldn't close well the windows as old. The flat has poor insulation against noise.
The intensils in the kitchen were quite basic and dated. No kitchen towels. Some of the kitchenware was dirty or poorly cleaned.

The appartment is very well located in the old town and has been nicely renovated and decorated. There are ACs, working very well and with 2 rooms and bathrooms (one en suite) very spacious for 2 to max 4 people. We were only 2 so we had more than enough space. The owners were very friendly and helpfull, especially the father of Alessandro.
The communication via the messenger didn‘t always work well - some questions were not answered, which bothered me - I don‘t mind at all if certain questions can‘t be answered but at least give a feedback instead of ignoring my questions.
Furthermore we were reminded about the fact that we shall always lift the chairs while moving them to avoid bothering the neighbours downstairs. This is a fair point, which we were more than happy to respect.
The issue however was the fact that there were several neighbours around us, making a hell of noise the entire day and late at night, when we were trying to sleep!
The worst were 2 crazy ladies yelling and shouting at each other constantly - we heard everything loud and clear while we were sitting on the terrace outside. No chance of enjoying some relaxing time with a book - instead we had to wear noice-cancelling headsets.
Here we‘d really expected a pro-active communication from the landlord to the neighbours and an information to us.
Smell: there was a (known) problem with the shower-draining, mist likely because the ciffon wasn‘t installed properly (or it was missing). The landlord came by with some chemicals but this didn‘t help unfortunately.
Also the shower heads seemed to be partially calcified, which resulted in an unpleasant and irregular water jet.
Check-in/out times: the booking originally was confirmed with the check-in time as from 14:00h, however we were told that it was not possible before 15:00h.
All in all we‘d rate the appartment with 8 or even 9 points when the above mentioned points would be solved sustainably.

A really well-located apartment with everything you need for a short stay. We loved Salerno as a base to explore the Amalfi Coast (although the city has two ports and not much clarity on where different ferries go from) and Pompeii. And Salerno itself is fantastic - everyone we met was so friendly and there was no shortage of fantastic options to eat and drink the night away, all maximum 5 mins from the apartment. It got very hot (we went in July, around 40degrees in the day) but great to come back to a nearby apartment with full aircon and comfortable beds. Really quiet despite being on such a busting street. Would recommend!
We couldn't get the hob to work, which meant we couldn't make our own coffee in the morning... But the cafe immediately downstairs solved that for us

Not far from the train and marina, interesting historical building
It was quite noisy - there is a bar with music below and the main tourist street
