We spent a single night here and were very lucky to have great weather for our heli ride to Fox Glacier. Trish met us when we arrived and gave some excellent recommendations for things to do in the afternoon (Fox Glacier Viewpoint, Lake Matheson Walk, Glow worms), places to have a drink (Cook Saddle Saloon) and dinner (Betsy Jane). Breakfast was lovely and homey with lots of variety and a stunning view of the mountains. It was a wonderful stay.

Nice friendly and knowledgeable hosts and good conversation with other guests around the breakfast table
The accommodation feels a little tired, basic and dated - and the outside spaces felt a little untidy. We have stayed in 15 places so far on our NZ travels and this is the first one to not quite live up to the photos etc.
