Atithi Guest House

Spacious, old colonial architecture, bright and breezy. Walking in from looking outside the building into the hotel was a good surprise. Its so much nicer than the old photos online, probably taken 20yrs ago. All staff members seemed comfortable working there, not sure but felt like they all have been working for many years. Same face everyday. Might be a family run place. Every morning and evening they clean and mop the whole place. Its always very clean. My bed linen and pillow were clean too. (you know whole stay ruins when hotel pillows smell..) One of them walked me to find beer one evening for a secret bottle shop near by that was fun.

There was no explanation of hotel when checking in. wifi, check out time, restaurant opening hour etc. Toilet paper was missing in room. very limited amenity. But these are not a issue especially considering the price range they offer, and all relaxed hotel reception 24/7.

We enjoyed the freshly cooked home style food. The food was tasty and not spicy, which was good for us.

The leaky faucet needs to be fixed.

It delivers good value for the money one pays. Staff was very helpful , polite and service minded. Food inside was good. Location was nice.

Hotel is near a masjid, you hear loud noise of prayers at various times of the day. I can understand that it has nothing to do with the hotel though.

The property build quite well.

Firstly they gave choice between 2 rooms, then suddenly they said no you have to take 1st first they showed, next morning while taking shower I found sand is coming out of the jet shower for which they asked me to take shower in another room. They even asked me to shift from 1st room to 2nd ( the one they showed earlier ). Again the problem arise in that room as well that the power socket is not working, can’t charge my phone in same room. For which I have to travel either in lobby to charge my phone or cafeteria to do so.
