They didn't give me the key and the lock, despite a number of emails and message and didn't reply to the telephone calls. As I couldn't get in (at 10.30 evening) I have to drive back to York!!

The area looked good, however we were completely ignored by the owner regarding picking up keys to the premises
We travelled from Worcester to Sheffield having booked this a months ago. Check in time was agreed and then I was told they would confirm how to collect keys. We heard nothing, so tried calling, texted and emailed and was completely ignored. I eventually decided to contact booking.com direct who were very helpful. The property owner told them that he had over booked and would need to cancel. Having read Google reviews this has happened to other customers before. We tried to book alternative accommodation in Sheffield however due to 2 events everywhere was booked up and we had to drive 30 minutes away to Rotherham for availability. If we'd of arrived by train, we would of been sleeping outside that night. PLEASE AVOID. Bad service and no care for other people's welfare

The location is excellent and the room was clean
The instructions to get in were confusing with two of the four rooms not being in 'Mazda building' but the door next to it. The Wifi didn't work and in two of the rooms this was more frustrating as there was no signal at all. Two rooms were also absolutely freezing and the heating was broken in one. They were almost under street level and smelt of damp. A very small space heater had been put in there which did very little to warm the room up on a very cold night. We contacted the number provided for assistance many times and were completely ignored. They still haven't got back to us. Absolutely awful customer service and unacceptable conditions!

Close to city centre nice and clean

This unit is in a cool alleyway/close lined with old brick buildings. The apartment is decorated nicely and it's clean. It's close to Cathedral station, the tram, and Sheffield train station.
This is a basement unit so it has all of the features of a basement. It was very cold and smelled musty. The TV would not turn on. The area immediately adjacent did not feel safe, transient drug users in the close outside. The entry stairwell to access the unit was dark and unlit.

Nothing - no access provided
No access provided when arriving at Property - messaged & called contact number numerous times with no response - had to book alternative accommodation - terrible experience - stay well clear of this property

Nothing.
No communication. Gave no instructions on how to access the property leaving me stood outside in the cold with bags whilst I tried to contact. Eventually I had to contact booking.com who tried to escalate and eventually confirm led my booking was cancelled. I would not recommend this host or accommodation.

Location was central
Hosts did not send check in details, when contacted they did not respond to messages despite accepting the check in time so were clearly active and on their phones. Ignored messages and did not answer the phone, then turned the phone off so went straight to voicemail. Left us stranded and without accommodation, Booking.com customer service had to assist us and help us find alternative accommodation so we weren't homeless for the night. Extremely poor service from Mandega House, avoid at all costs!

Lots of space, very, comfy bed and the aesthetic of the room was really good.
Shower pressure was nonexistent, kitchen was lacking, needed a t-towel, and maybe some decent plates and glasses, was a bit of a let down in terms of quality. TV was also a bit wonky when against the wall and the WiFi signal was extremely poor so want able to work from the apartment.

The hotel cancelled my stay on the day of arrival due to an issue with the room. They didn’t bother to call or email directly just sent a message via the booking.com message service that fortunately I checked before arrival. Had to make a last minute alternative booking that cost significantly more.

Resonably sized room, location worked for my needs
Basement rooms. Obvious signs of water ingress and slight smell of damp

Scam accommodation who didn’t provide any self check in details and then didn’t respond to any messages or phone calls.

Location by city centre and proximity to car park.
Strong smell of cigarette smoke in corridor and in room was disappointing.

Place was lovely and clean, easy access, very central to city center, shops, bars, etc. We parked in pennine five carpark, Silver Street Head, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield S1 2DY. £10.40 for 24hrs.. cheapest around, and 5 minute walk to Mandega House. Bed was very comfy, will definitely be booking again on our next night in sheffield..

It’s in a good central location and the bed was comfortable
Some of the rooms are a little dark - but that is because some of the rooms are at street level.

Facilities were fine and the location was very central
The room was dirty and very dusty. There had obviously been some work done in the room which had not been hoovered up and the dust was left on the bed

Staff were every helpful. Apartment was well appointed, although the bathroom design is odd (why is the toilet in the shower?!).
Staff were really helpful but the key collection was a bit of a disaster. Our check-in time was supposed to be 3pm so was expecting information about how to access the property by then. Had to call at 3-05, was informed it as going to be slightly late but to show up at our convenience. Then got a call saying it would not be ready until 4pm. Arrived at 4.05 and got instructions to open the front door but was told the incorrect key drawer in the foyer so someone had to come round and give us the correct key.

In the city centre, very close to the cathedral. The property had a kitchenette, with tea/coffee etc supplied, great towels and large bathroom. Excellent overall.
The property was excellent, but the approach was a little concerning, on the first approach! It was very untidy and needed a good clean up, but at night the area was well lit, and knowing the property and apartment was excellent made up for it.

The bath was a selling point, it was excellent after a long hike in the Peaks. We had difficulty turning hot water on, but host replied promptly and let us use another apartment's bath. Second day we had hot water.

Price quite high for one night in Sheffield

Rather quaint accommodation in a vaulted cellar. Excellent shower, comfy bed. Own small kitchen with fridge, microwave etc was an unexpected bonus. Proper little apartment. Very convenient location just back of the cathedral
Lack of natural light would be a bit of a problem for a longer stay, but ideal fora one night stop.

The bed was comfy
For the majority of the time the tv wouldn’t work, the shower wouldn’t go hot and was just constantly cold, there’s damp/water marks on the ceiling, the cutlery wasn’t clean, some sockets didn’t work and the lamps didn’t work either

Size, bath, cleanliness, kitchenette, solid wood floor, bathroom very well fitted out. The quality of the room was excellent
The bed was a touch on the small side but, my husband is quite large. We have a French queen at home 😀

It had been recently furbished and the decor looked good and the bright looking.
The room was in an underground cellar with small windows looking onto the street level. It also smelt very bad of cigarettes. I walked out and booked another hotel with proper registering.

Location, easy access fob entry, quirky building design
Lack of maintenance of apartment. No hot water in shower, bedside lamp didn't work, wall lights didn't work, bathroom mirror light didn't work, TV didn't turn on, room smelt of tobacco from smokers using the little courtyard below.
All very disappointing for the price I paid and the fact that I specifically booked a superior room for a special occasion.

Beautifully decorated, gorgeous bathroom with a lovely roll top bath. Decent size room. Good quality furnishings throughout. Kitchenette had everything I needed. I liked how you could screen it off, using kitchen light it lit the screen beautifully creating good ambiance. Brilliant location for the crucible theatre, just over five minute walk. It felt like a treat, staying somewhere so lovely.
I had a bad experience with the check in. Following the text information received, I got in the building alright, but was given the wrong lock box code, had to call the owner, who rang be back a few mins later and gave me the right code. The door to the corridor on opening has a sharp incline which is not obvious, had glasses on because of code mix up, I went flying and badly hurt myself. My knee was swollen for two days and bad bruising on my chest, I did not let it spoil my trip or experience of apartment, but in the check in text, please could you mention this incline as you go through this door, so this does not potentially happen to someone else.
Although it is a quiet area, I felt alittle on show, people walking past could look in. I kept one of the curtains permanently closed so I could relax in the apartment.
The other issue I had was the noise during the night from apartment above me. It sounded like someone was moving furniture around most of the night. Bought ear plugs the following day.

Stayed 1 night at the mandega house, from the beginning the owners were so helpful and informative. The location is a short walk to all attractions, the room was quite modern with a great bathroom, also fridge and cooking facilities is needed, would definitely stay here again.
I couldn't find anything personally to fault the mandega, but my partner woke with sore back as bed was too soft for her but I loved it really comfortable

Really good find in the centre of Sheffield, beats a windowless room in the local chain hotel any day. A bit confusing getting into the building, need to make that process clearer but otherwise excellent.

Great location, comfortable bed.
It was a bit cold and the electric radiator took a while to warm up. I would have liked an extra blanket.

Getting in was not straightforward but the owner was very helpful sorting it out

Central location and very close to NCP car park.
Room was very cold as it had very large windows and one heater that couldn’t cope. Also the heater was very complicated to use and no instructions. Room had a damp smell. Shower took forever to get any hot water but kitchen water gets dangerously hot. Took 7 days from check out to receive damage deposit back and had to chase through booking.com chat, what’s app and eventually text to get it refunded. No replies to any messages on either booking.com or WhatsApp. Only replied when I txt. Owner stated refund would take 2-3 days but only when I chased again after 7 days was it refunded. Room could easily have a king or super king but only small double which feels uncomfortable for 2 people. Tv unit was broken and didn’t shut. Had to move table and chairs to be able to get around bed. I wouldn’t stay again under any circumstances.
