AbCa's Creek Lodge

AbCa’s lodge is beautiful, very well done property with lots of lovely touches to make it comfy, pretty and at one with nature. It’s our second visit here and although beautiful the first time more improvements have been made and are being made. We had a problem with our room when there was a big storm and water came in. The team sorted this for us quickly and efficiently and made sure the next day we were ok. My partner cannot tolerate spicy food at all and they cooked specifically for him so he could enjoy the meal without getting sick. The lady cooking the eggs in the morning is great, so happy and cheerful and brings real energy to the place. She made our breakfast so much fun!

For what you get the price is high. We paid £80ish a night and had no hot water and the water pressure was so low the shower was a trickle. You are paying for the beautiful grounds but hot water for a shower should be included at this price. We were there in the off season and so it was quiet, this meant that we had to order food for a set time. This was not a problem for us but when my partner ordered us dinner for 9pm he was told that we had to come at 8:30 instead. Fine, it’s only 30 mins and we ignored it. But then we were told that although the buffet breakfast was from 7-10am it would be good if we could come at 8am as the other group of guests were coming then. We do not like eating early and so said no, we will come later and the staff seemed annoyed. I think they wanted to finish early and we were stopping that. We also do not eat lunch, but there was an underlying current that we had to eat as this is profit making. For me it feels as though the staff are trained to push the food/trips as this makes extra money. True for any place but this can be done without the guests being made to feel that they don’t have to eat if they don’t want to.

Hotellin ympäristö viihtyisä ja kaunis. Aamiainen hyvä. Henkilökunta ystävällinen.

Monta tuntia hotelli oli vailla sähköjä ja internettiä. Oli pimeää eikä varajärjestelmää käytössä, ei generaattoria. Pyydettäessä saimme huoneeseen solar- lampun. NÄIN KALLIISSA PAIKASSA SE ON ANTEEKSIANTAMATONTA!! Asiakkaat jätetään oman onnensa nojaan ilman selityksiä tai apua. Tällaisessa paikassa ei voi tehdä mitään pimeällä. Vuoteiden moskiittoverkot liian pieniä eivätkä peittäneet vuodetta! Liian kallis kokonaisuudessaan, ei ollenkaan vastinetta rahalle!
