Privát Nováč is, essentially a fairly typical mid-terrace house that has been converted into a small boarding house much in the style of typical British Bed and Breakfast establishments, but without the breakfast. Entry is gained form the rear of the building and is a little unprepossessing at first and there is no front entrance. You need to call the owner who will come and let you in through a gate on one side of the garden. If driving, you can park in the garden; there is space for three cars. The garden is well-cared for and includes a small swimming pool. A covered terrace has been constructed behind the house and would make a pleasant spot to sit outside and use the barbecue facilities if the weather permits. The best use of the interior has been made in terms of décor and cleanliness. The whole place fell very well-looked after. In the Czech custom, no outdoor shoes are permitted inside and in the small entry hall lockers are available to store your footwear and there are plenty of slippers to borrow, should desire. The rooms are basic, but well-furnished and spotlessly clean. The bathroom is fine and has basic toiletries and a highly sophisticated shower. There is a well-equipped kitchen available for guests.

Access is from the rear, so you end up driving, or walking, down a small alley and then round to the rear of the next door property, which is very run down. For a moment I thought that it was Privát Nováč and was considering making a run for it! The view from the bedroom was of the main road and the factories on the other side. The bed sheets were a kind of rough, woollen type, not smooth, so a bit scratchy and lacking in finesse. And finally, while it says on Booking.com ‘we speak your language’, that’s only true if you speak Czech!

Madam, that was living in the house was really nice and tried to help us with our little baby, which was nice but could be concieved interfering to others/ plus she only spoke czech language. The bathroom was really nice, with shower that had four different heads, I enjoyed that greatly. Kitchen had a great coffee machine, but I didn't know how to operate it. Oh, and they have a pool. Big enough for the three of us.

Well, we've been there in the heat wave and we didn't have a AC in the room. The rooms are located on a second floor under a roof, turned against the evening sun, so you can imagine the heat. We had our doors opened to the corridor, which was nice and cold, and in the night we had the window open. But still, it was hot. Also, two flights of stairs is no joke with a small child. And if you are not a fan, there is a free roaming alsatian (dog), otherwise really nice and all, but she poops a a lot and likes spectators (and steals biscuits, too).
