The swimming pool value it . Nice hotel antique one , friendly staff.

Everything. The owner and staff are super nice. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The location is great. A small supermarket in 3 minutes walk, a bigger supermarket (Cargills) in 10 minutes walk. There are a few ATM's in about 5 minutes walk There is a nice lake nearby on walking distance with some trees with a bat colony. They fly out around 6.30 pm, which is nice to watch. The hotel has a very nice swimming pool with view on some rice paddies. The owner booked a full day safari in Yala National Park for us, which was great (we saw 3 leopards and a sloth boar, amongst various other animal and birds). We booked originally 3 nights, but extended 3 more nights. We had a great time.

This guesthouse is beautifully situated within rice paddies. It's very peaceful. From here it's a nice stroll to a big lake where you can see a lovely sunset with lots of birds and afterwards thousands of flying foxes passing by. We enjoyed a quick check-in and a nice welcome drink. Our room was spacious, clean and well maintained. There is a small porch in front of the room with chairs to enjoy a relaxed day. Even better is the incredible pool with views of the rice paddies and palm trees. In the elevated restaurant we had a delicious and freshly cooked dinner. The wife of the owner is a really good cook. It perfectly matched our taste (not too spicy for us foreigners, but well seasoned ;-) ).

Don't book a safari tour to Yala National Park at the guesthouse! We've done several safaris in different countries of the world (Namibia, Tanzania, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka) - but this one was the worst. As the owner of the guesthouse always works together with the same driver, one should look for alternatives. Otherwise you will end up with 0.5 l of water for a tour of 7.5 hours and a breakfast for 6 people that is just enough for 3 (and no drinks included). But the most negative aspect was the driver being not interested in the beautiful places and views along the safari: He was just rushing through the national park, seemingly just focussed on finding leopards. Spotting leopards is great, but there are so many other beautiful animals and views worth stopping for: crocodile, bison, elephants, spotted deer, white storch, black storch, peacock, jungle fowl, beeeater, waran, mongoose, kormoran, ibis, hornbill, eagle etc. Moreover, the driver was not available for communication. He just closed all windows of the front cabin, hardly talked to us or listened to our shouts to stop for views and taking photos.

price was really good! the property had a parking space for our small suzuki wagon, that was really practical :) staff was friendly 🤙🏽 next to a western restaurant and cafe with local food too.

bathroom was really moldy and the shower faucet and a lot of other things had a lot of rust on it. generally everything felt already old and come off
