The Retreat

One tiny criticism - the china cabinet in kitchen with the glasses has a very mouldy smell.

The location is fantastic, and the house is so homely and welcoming. The kitchen was kitted out with everything you could want for a short stay for example, oil for cooking, salt, pepper, spices etc. There was even some food in the freezer and also pasta, noodles and other cupboard staples which was very kind!

For the price the cleanliness should have been better. There was a feeling of staying in someone's home as there were so many personal items. The washing machine was full of laundry. The property is cute and quaint but for the price needs to come up a level in terms of cleanliness, finish (bath sealing very poor). Appliances are old, the fridge needs replaced. The outside area is pretty but needs cleaned and plants cut back. We would not stay at this price point. On the positive side, the beds were clean and comfortable and the location is excellent.
