Villa Capogrecale - piscina riscaldata

The best things: the location, the house and the hosts. The villa sits on a hill, surrounded by orange and olive groves, with views all around; Mount Etna, Taormina, Calabria in the distance, the coast below and the village/town of Piedomonte Etnea. The house is extremely well-equipped, clean and comfortable, inside and out. There is so much space on all sides of the villa that there's always somewhere to sit in/out of the sun, quietly or in a group and we were welcome to wander around the farm. You can walk into the village in 15-20 minutes - it's small but everything that is needed was available (and there are bigger towns and supermarkets a short drive away anyway). The very good fish, butchers and greengrocers, Caffè Calì and pizzeria Gianluca stand out. People are very friendly and welcoming. Our hosts were absolutely excellent... as much or as little advice as we needed and great recommendations on where to eat and visit. They recommended Giuseppe who took us on a great trip up Etna and to a local vineyard. Nothing was too much trouble.

Only the weather! But early April is changeable and I should've known to bring a coat and better footwear. The pool is heated.

Fantastic villa with beautiful views of Etna and the coast.

Séjour idyllique avec vue exceptionnelle sur l’Etna et la mer Nous avons passé des vacances absolument magnifiques à la villa Capogrecale, avec la piscine, à Piedimonte Etneo. La situation est idéale, dans un écrin de verdure, au calme, avec une vue incroyable sur l’Etna d’un côté et la mer de l’autre. La villa est superbe, propre, soignée, très agréable à vivre, climatisation, avec des équipements complets et de qualité. Tout est prévu pour le confort, y compris pour les enfants et tout-petits : lit bébé, jouets, bouées, tout est sur place, ce qui facilite grandement le séjour en famille. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié le tri des déchets parfaitement organisé, avec des sacs de couleur qui facilitent le respect de l’environnement pendant le séjour. Un immense merci à Mario et Simona, des hôtes discrets, gentils, serviables, toujours disponibles tout en nous laissant notre intimité. Ils ont été aux petits soins tout au long de notre séjour et nous ont donné entière satisfaction.

Les moustiques dehors, ça pique !

The location was excellent with stunning views over Taomina and the straights of Messina. There were several good restaurants nearby and the local wine inexpensive and good. We thought the villa was a little expensive but very comfortable.

The villa layout is a bit strange as it can be converted into two rental properties, but once you get used to that, it was great. The kitchen was a little small if there are 8 or more guests but the views are stunning and the pool very good.
