Villa Virginia is a holiday home with a swimming pool and a splendid sea view located in Bocale, a few kilometers south of Reggio Calabria. It is the ideal choice for small groups and families who want to experience the territory in an authentic way, without giving up on comfort.
Villa Virginia has belonged to the Di Marno Family for generations, the historic owners of the Midimar travel agency in Reggio Calabria. The property was born from a philosophy of sustainable tourism that considers the "tourist/customer" as a "man/visitor" in search not only of hospitality, but of a family welcome and a serene and authentic environment.
The property offers a large accommodation on the first floor of the building, perfect for hosting groups or large families. The apartment on the ground floor is reserved exclusively for the owners, guaranteeing privacy and tranquility to our guests.
The accommodation can host up to 10 people, distributed in 5 double/twin rooms: three with private bathrooms and two with a shared external bathroom, for a total of four bathrooms.
The interiors boast a fully equipped kitchen, ideal for serving up to 10 people, also equipped with a purifier for drinking water. The bright relaxation room, with a latest generation television and hi-fi system, offers maximum comfort for moments of leisure. The accommodation is completed by two balconies, a veranda with a sea view and a veranda on the mountain side, perfect for enjoying relaxation at any time of the day.
Outside, guests can use a garden with private parking, a swimming pool for exclusive use, an electric gate and a barbecue, perfect for spending pleasant days outdoors. Each room is also equipped with an air conditioner with independent control and free Wi-Fi, to ensure maximum comfort throughout the stay.
Villa Virginia stands in a privileged position, between the sea and the hills: easily reachable by car, but reserved and away from the chaos of the city. Here it is possible to fully immerse yourself in the colors, scents and flavors of the area but to best enjoy the experience and move in total freedom, renting a car is highly recommended.
A few minutes away you will find free and equipped beaches, much appreciated by windsurfing and kitesurfing lovers: the area is in fact one of the most renowned spots in Italy for these sports, known and frequented internationally.
Villa Virginia is only 13 km from the center of Reggio Calabria, 7 km from the Strait Airport and 14 km from the Port of Reggio Calabria, the starting point to reach Sicily and the Aeolian Islands in a short time.

Antonio was an amazing host and the house was perfect for our needs. It was spacious and the views were incredible!! Antonio’s mother was so accommodating and greeted us even though it was nearly 3am by the time we arrived, on a night before work! She had provided us with snacks and homemade bread. She ended up making us a tarimasu, a homemade lasagna and fried zucchini all of which were amazing!!! The pool was a perfect escape from the heat and overall just an amazing experience. Antonio was so helpful in getting our rental car, pointing us in the right direction for groceries and other needed items. A trip forever etched in our memories!!

We stayed at this accommodation for five weeks from December 2016 to January 2017. The accommodation was fabulous. It is not often that the accommodation is more impressive than the photographs. The apartment has five bedrooms, two are en-suite. The view of Sicily and Mount Etna from the lounge and balcony is breathtaking. The hosts, Graziella, Nino and family are very welcoming, very kind and extremely helpful. They truly are a wonderful family. They also run a local travel agency so they are very qualified for renting out a holiday let.
Reggio Calabria is a delight. Please don't expect Florence or Rome when you visit Reggio. In this area the town is more modern. It is run down in places due to the current economy but that is more than made up for by the weather, the trips available to you and the people. This is a destination for experienced travellers. Access to Sicily is excellent but if you are staying here you would be better served focusing on the local towns such as Scilla, Bova, Pentedatillo, Gerace, Aspromonte National Park and of course Reggio Calabria. Reggio has great restaurants and bars as well as a fabulous street, "Garibaldi" for shopping. If you stay here you will need to drive almost everywhere. In the summer you may be able to pop down to the beach on foot but it is more advisable to drive as the highway is at the bottom of a small hill just away from the property. It isn't really a location where you can take a walk to a restaurant, car is advisable but dont let that put you off. This is a great property and a great location. If you are very fortunate you may get to try Nino'w bread. It isn't something he makes every day. When he does it is in large batches and it is the tastiest bread we have ever eaten.

"We rented the Apartment in October 2006. It is one of the most spacious and best presented apartments we have ever stayed in. Views from the balconies were amazing. The apartment has an extremely well equiped kitchen with a patio out the rear to enjoy breakfast in the sun. It is an ideal location to explore Reggio Calabria as well as Sicily.
The Owners who lived downstairs could not do enough for you and are very very friendly without being overbearing. They make the BEST home baked bread!
A car is essential. Beaches are within 10 mins walk and superb pizzeria with pizza spinning displays to keep the children entertained within 20 mins walk. Superb."
