Central and great location, communication with host terrible

It was very clean, which I think is very important! The location is great (though be aware that they have several flats, so all locations aren't the same), just over a K-Market (little grocery store), super convenient! And it's only maybe a 7 min walk into "town"/Lordi Square where you'll find all restaurants and bars! Had everything you need really, it's a "proper" flat. Overall a nice place to stay, though I had some issues.

It was a little worn down, the cabinets in the bathroom were peeling (I forgot to take a photo) and there was some marks on the walls here and there. Nothing much but I was expecting a little higher standard compared to what I paid for the stay. As far as I can see, there are no photos on the Booking website of the flat I was staying in, as far as I can see, so again, be prepared of getting something that's a bit different than what photos show. There was no coffee table/living room table, so you need to use a chair as one, if you for instance, wants to eat in front of the TV. The communication with the company that rents our the flats, were 100% terrible and awful. I sent them questions the day before I was to leave, and it's not the day after and an hour AFTER check-out - and they haven't replied to my question about check-out routines. You see, they send you conflicting information about how to complete check out. I also asked them questions some day before I was to arrive, and their reply was far from prompt. They did however have time to send me "ads" for car rentals and Aurora hunting before I arrived.. The cleaners also showed up roughly 30 min before check-out because they "thought it was empty" (their words), when I was still there, as I was waiting for the company to answer. Quite strange to me. Lastly, they ask of you to do the dishes (fair I guess.. But the dishwasher was full from a previous guest, so it had to be done by hand), but also take out the rubbish when you check out. For the price I paid, I think it's a bit cheeky to request this from the guest.

Easy check in and good location. Room wise is very clean and spacious.

The location show on listing is not what the owner sent to me. It is about 500m away from the listing location show on booking.com. I have 2 large 28inch luggages and i have to carry to that location where host messaged me. Luckily i have my own rental car, that i can drive there. Imagine those who without a car and they arrived your location and only realized it was wrong. Another thing is neither the phone call or message will get help from owner. The messages you got is only bot automated messages. Calling them is always in busy mode.

Pathetic apartment too costly for the poor standard of the apartment

The location is good . About 10 min walk to the city center

The room heating did not work. We were left in sub zero temperatures cold at night. When contacted, nobody responded or offered to fix the issue. Pathetic service by apartment management agencies.

Great value for money, nice little apartment.

The apartment was perfect for our families needs. Great location. Nice and cosy!

The TV didn't work properly, we couldn't get Netflix working, it kept freezing, and the regular TV channels lost the picture. It was a bit annoying in the evenings, but we were only there for 3 nights. Other than that, it was great.

Great apartment once you find it.

Great location just next to the city centre, easy enough to walk everywhere if you wanted. The apartment was very nice - clean, comfortable, and well presented. Modern interior with a welcoming feel. Comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen with everything you’d need for a short stay. Private sauna was top notch. The heated garage addon was convenient, easy to access, and not too far away.

The arrival instructions could do with improvement - Entering the provided location into any map app takes you to the wrong side of the block, which happened to be near several buildings under renovation. We're obviously not familiar with the area so a short explanation that the correct entrance is actually from the next road down (Korkalonkatu), where a set of stairs leads to the building would've been very helpful. Customer service wasn’t reachable either. The phone number rang with no answer (in spite of the stated hours), and our direct message on booking.com wasn’t responded to until we'd basically checked out. The apartment itself was really nice and clearly well looked after, but the check in confusion added unnecessary messing around after an already long travel day.

Central and quiet location, easy to find and clean

The codes provided didn't work when we arrived. Lucky enough the reception was still open because if this was past their working hours we would have been left outside with -25°C.

The apartment had everything that was needed for our stay. It was in a quiet and clean area.

There was a major issue at the very start, when I arrived to collect the keys at 1 location (which wasn't the apartment location) there was no keys. It took awhile to get an answer from host that the apartment was not ready despite being past checkin time. Abit of back and forth and I was given another apartment in another building. The instructions to get there were terrible and I had to rely on strangers in the street to direct me. The apartment was much smaller than what I had booked and paid for. The apartment was also filthy! It was not cleaned at all. The sheets were fresh on the beds (I hope) and towels were fresh but the apartment was not cleaned elsewhere. I have pictures incase it's argued that it was cleaned, it most definitely was not! Checkin took nearly to 2 hours to complete because of apartment not being ready and not being able to get to the new apartment, being out in -7 degree weather with 2 small children (one with special needs) in the dark was such a terrible experience.

Lovely spacious apartment

Lovely big apartment with everything you could need. Oven, fridge freezer, toaster, dishwasher and best of all sauna. Apartment is 15 mins walk to the centre and has a supermarket underneath. Keys have to be collected from town and can't check in til 4pm

This apartment was perfect, comfortable and has all primary necessities to cook a good meal.

Codes sent in many messages were quite confusing. But after few days it was great. I think for a family stay of more than 3days enough toilet paper and hand paper.

It was a real winter fairyland.

Individual key pick-up. Everything was well explained so there weren't any problems. Although, it was a little bit of a challenge to find the right apartment because some apartments on different floors have the same name. I didn't know I should look for numbers. Also - one key unlocks everything.

I didn't like that there weren't instructions for using the sauna. Not everyone is Finish and know these things. Also, the balcony was closed off with sofa so it seemed inaccessible and it wasn't listed here as an option.

Nice stay 1minute far away from Rovaniemi city center.

Nice view, good services, sauna inside the apartment was amazing.

Cleaningness can be improved, communication with the host can be improved (we asked info about the car parking and we never got an answer). Inside it was very hot, even reducing the temperature set on the thermostat.

Key delivery not handled in time, lazy cleaning

Good location

The keys were not delivered in time and no one answered the phone. We had to walk to the Kotimaailma office, but despite it being during the opening hours, there was no one at the office, and the place looked like a storage. No one answered the phone still. Finally someone sent us a message after many calls, asking us to message instead. We send a message regarding the keys missing from the key box, only got a reply saying "wait"... After a while we walked back to the apartment again. Now the keys were there but no one had told us. Apparently they had been in to the apartment now and hastily cleaned it up, but didn't do a very good job. We ended up calling the owner and agreed to cancel our stay with a refund.

The property is hard to find. we had problem with water flooding and didn't drain out after shower. we cannot continue shower more than 1 minute and floor flooded. Sauna is not working. we email the property they never reply or apologize for the inconvenience. wifi not working. mattresses not comfortable. cleaning fee is included in the booking yet we have to take out garbage when we check out. I stayed at airbnb many times even never asked to take garbage out. what's the point paying for the cleaning?

Pleasant

The apartment on valtakatu 35 was immaculate. The little park across the road was perfect for sledding, hiring skates for icestqking e10 per day. The bus stop to airport and to scv was right at front door.

Communication from the host was poor Tv didn't seem to work...it had a remote and we tried but couldn't turn it on. I messaged the host asking for advice on it and got no reply. Wouldn't liek to be locked out of the apartment etc as I'd guess I'd be all on my own wiating for the host to reply to me!! No microwave for heating food.

Spacious flat in a new building with elevator. Always had hot water available and heaters to keep the flat warm. Washing machine and dishwasher in the flat. Spacious shower as well.

20-25 minute walk from center is not always easy, especially with the snow. Internet was often not working and when it would, it was quite slow. We found that the dishes had not been cleaned before our arrival. Missing kitchen equipment.

when we arrived at d address there was nobody there to Assist us. the instruction was to go to Bldg 3A which was 3 bldgs down from d address of their office. we were help less. The Guy from Add car who was kind enough to bring us to d address & didnt leave us until we found d place. If not for him we will be out in d cold looking for Bldg 3A. the apartment was cold d Heater was not working.

Absolutely fantastic apartment, has all that you have at home and more. Everything 8ncpuding pantry is stocked! Everything works like a charm. The person who helped us understand how to operate some of the gadgets was extremely helpful

I have given leas rating to the staff only because I thought the check in process and the initial complaints handling could be better. It was too much self service whi h can be an issue for someone new like me

I had a lot of luggage as I had been at a workshop for 7 days in Jyvaskyla. I came by bus which arrived in Rovaniemi at about 11 am. For a first timer in Rovaniemi it was a challenge to look for the apartment and walk hither and thither dragging luggage and waiting for 15.00 to get the key. Some personal contact and communication and allowing me to store my luggage somewhere while I waited for the apartment to be made ready would have been much appreciated. Otherwise I was ver happy with the apartment.thank you.

Difficult to find the 35 B, very far from the 37...a good Pic of the building ( not aerial) would help. Some noise from construction near by,easily solved with earplugs.
