Hostel Durres

This is a fantastic hostel. Great location from the bus station and not too far from the beach. I did walk about half hour to find a quieter spot on the beach as it was extremely busy with sunbeds packed onto the beaches. The hostel staff were really friendly and helpful. I stayed in a four bunk room which was great. There is a nice vibe at the hotel with a garden where people sat and socialised.

No privacy curtain on bed but this wasn’t a huge issue as I used a sheet

Nice and big bed Really good price (24€/ night with breakfast included) Decent breakfast for the price (egg, tomato, cheese, butter, jam, half an orange and unlimited coffee, milk and bread) Really nice location, in Dürres City center 10 mins away from bus terminal Kitchen with fridge and all utilities You can use the washing machine for 3€, detergent is included. The is no dryer, but there are a few clotheslines on the backyard Really nice outside area The allowed us to leave our bags at reception for a few hours the day we left.

There was no aircon, just fan (cannot ask for more for this price) Wifi was unstable The paint in our room was peeling, particularly around the bed and the bathroom was a bit moldy.

Great place with very central location, Though I rarely stay in Hostels, I booked this one on a short notice and based on reviews that ended up better then I anticipated, and that's a very good thing. Room with 4 beds is of a decent space, has a comfy bed and there are sufficient shower cabins & toilets in first and second floor, which makes this hostel look like you are staying at a private room. The local couple ( menagment) are very communicative, friendly, and welcoming, just like other staff that happen to be volunteers, and this makes Hostel Durres a good and warm place to stay indeed. Wifi is strong and there is large sofas indoors and huge garden outside where you can hang out with others, or work on your notebook, pending you nature of your stay. All in all, this place really has a good vibes all around, and most probably will return again, or whenever I'm in Durres again.

Initially I thought the door will be open till midnight, but reception works only till 21:00,. but the door stays open till 23:00. So the only thing that can be improved, according to my opinion, is a check-in upgrade model by perhaps installing a pin code at the front gate, which doesn't cost a lot and avoids all the late arrivals potential issues.

The beds were a bit too small. And I'm not super huge, 1.82m. However the worst was the club which is right behind the wall. The music was so loud that you couldn't even concentrate. I understand that it's not up to the hostel, but some information about that should be available somewhere
