Brook Barn

It was rustic, spacious, cosy and fully equipped. It was cool in the heat and warm when the evenings got cooler. It had a lovely patio and spacious garden which is a safe place for a dog. There was space inside the main gate for our car and the property, which only had a couple of other properties on either side looked out onto miles of beautiful heathland, with regular visits from ponies, cows and deer. The land was perfect for our morning walks with our dog. There were also many leaflets about the local places to visit and the host had compiled a very useful book of recommendations and guides. The host was very responsive if we needed any information but otherwise wasn’t at all intrusive Also, it is remarkably peaceful

This of course is subjective but the mattresses on the beds were far too soft for us. I think brighter lights in the lounge would be helpful for reading in the evening. They were a bit too dim for us.

Location was fabulous, great walks on the doorstep. Cottage had everything we needed, kitchen very well equipped. TV with streaming services and great wifi. We were greeted by host Sarah which helped with settling in.

The bed upstairs creaked with the slightest movement!

The converted agricultural building was very homely, the bathroom and kitchen were very nice and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor space for us to sprawl ✔️

the double bed frame upstairs was extremely noisy to sleep on. every time you rolled over or even adjusted in bed it creaked really loudly. so we took the frame apart and slept on the mattress on the floor for the time we were there then put it back together before we left. not a problem really

Barn was in a super location, lots of facilities and very dog friendly!

Pre arrival was disappointing, had to chase information from cottages.com and then couldn’t get hold of the owner to organise about keys! Arrived with our fingers crossed! Mattresses were a little uncomfortable!
