I have very mixed feelings after leaving this accommodation. Both Lena and Vivek are definitely very acknowledgeable regarding all tourist possibilities. The welcome was amazing and very warm and I really felt at home. They advised me perfectly about buses, restaurants,... We also had some nice chats about life in Europe during the stay. Rooms are spacious, big refrigerator with congelation is great for longer stays. Cleanliness is ok (I had to clean all kitchen equipment before using it, though), the balcony is huge (but sadly, very open, so I basically didn't use it due to rain and the balcony being all the time wet :() Kitchen is equipped ok, no microwave, I was informed I could get one, but it never came (no big issue for me, might be for somebody else). Some improvements would be welcomed, like proper curtains, as there is lots of light coming into the room during the night. It's within walking distance to all important places (shops, beaches,...) but it's not really super close, especially if it rains or it's very sunny... But the view is nice and it's a calm place. Everyday cleaning service, but there is a strange policy to bring the key behind the reception desk (so "it doesn't get lost and the cleaning lady can use it"). That would be ok if there was somebody at the reception. As nobody is overlooking it, any guest can take any key and enter your room at any moment. Didn't like this to be honest. Otoh, I really appreciated the possibility of a late checkout.

AC in my room was not working. Sadly, I learned it on Saturday night, meaning no one was available to repair it on Sunday (which I understand). So I spent 2 extremely hot nights before my departure without AC or at least a well-working fan. I was unhappy with the communication, as the host told me on Sunday evening when I got back, how he tried to do something, I should close all windows, put the AC on and it should eventually start working. I did, it made the room even hotter. When I tried to reach them to help me a bit, nobody was reachable till the next day at 10 am. While Vivek apologized and I understand it might have been just bad timing, I'm rather sure he knew in the evening it was not working and he could be sincere and offered me some solution then. There were many free rooms that night, where I could move just to sleep. I was also disappointed by the lack of communication during the crisis situation which happened. The authorities prohibited everybody from going out (under a fine of 100 000MUR and imprisonment) at around 5 AM due to torrential rains. It was completely unexpected and meant also there was nowhere to buy anything (I found one illegally opened place in the afternoon when the rain stopped, but that's another story). Anyways, I wasn't really informed about how serious the situation is, nor about the prohibition of going out by the hosts. I only found myself afterward. When I asked if they could help me with some food, I was informed they have "little eggs, but I could get some bread if necessary". Now, I'm absolutely sure they wouldn't let me die and would help if really necessary, but don't expect any nice gestures which would go beyond their basic obligations (like offering to share dinner,...). Offering an airport transfer for almost double the price I could get on Booking was also not very cool.
