We were greeted by Sebastian upon arrival to Tortuguero and he pointed out all of the local facilities and points of interest on our walk to the hostel. The view from our balcony was also fantastic for sunrise over the ocean. We had the place to ourselves!
The hostel as a whole looked like it was in need of some TLC with tools and paint scattered around the garden and issues with our room door locking.

Staff seemed very organised
You have to walk like 500m across town, my guide didnt offer to carry a bag. The place generally has a run down feel, even though it was freshly painted. Common area was abit grimy and electrical sockets were hanging off etc

The accommodation is really right next to the beach, so it's super convenient if you want to have a quick soak (not much swimming, rip currents). The people at parking La Pavona know Tortuguero Adventures, so it's easy enough to get to/from Tortuguero, you get dropped off directly at their office. The host was really nice, so was the guide for our night walk, honestly a great experience.
The accommodation, like much of Tortuguero, could use some maintenance, but honestly, it's fairly minor. The room was in pretty good shape but there was some mold here and there and the AC worked the first night, but then started malfunctioning the 2nd night.

Quiet place with a room that had a nice view on the sea. Next to the place is a cute little bar with a very friendly lade who serves nice cocktails. The place is at walking distance from the town centre where you can do lots of activities and will find many restaurants and bars!
We arrived in the afternoon when it was getting dark. Although we informed the place about our arrival, nobody was there and the place seemed abandoned. Not a very welcoming experience. Only when we made a phone call, someone finally arrived to show us our room very quickly. The room is ok, but don't expect much for this budget.
