Hotel Cabreromar

The location is great. Near the beach and town. It was a walkable distance to town, making us appreciate cartegana. The staff were friendly. Initially thought we were going to have communication problems but some spoke a bit of English and the translation apps helped too. I enjoyed their breakfast and the view of the ocean you get in the morning whilst eating. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay there. Lastly the manager was good and friendly.

I didn't like the noisy street. The noise settles by midnight The hotel is located in a busy road but it's also a great way of appreciating their culture because it gives a glimpse of what fun you might be missing on

Very clean

Everything was great, specially the host Pedro. The room and facilities were clean, it was a very good price as well. The view from the restaurant/rooftop was awesome and the food was nice as well. Overall, Very nice. The sea was close, you have to walk 3 blocks. Also the market Ara was super close so you can walk 2 blocks to get there. The CARTAGENA letters are close so you can walk there as well. Also you can go to the ciudad amurallada walking but it can take you around 30 minutes, if you enjoy walking, can be a nice thing to do.

The hotel is great but the surroundings are just ok (taking into account it is stratum 4 I thought the surroundings were going to be better, but it is ok). It is worth what it costs. The room was super small and the balcony doesn’t have chairs, so if you have wet clothes is very hard to dry them. The restaurant don’t offer the lunch of the day menu that cost 20.000 cop pesos, unless you ask for it, they usually give you the regular menu card which is very expensive compared with the lunch of the day. My advice is always ask for the lunch of the day. Besides that my stay was extremely nice 💖

Room 3/5: The AC control did not work, and it got super cold. We asked for a thicker sheet, and they brought it up super quickly. There was no drinking water, or fridge, no plugs beside your bed to charge phones. They had some consumables, but water was not among them, which is insane to me. Cleanliness is 5/5, clean sheets, no comments. Overall attention and operations 2/5: It was odd that they did not let my sister and brother-in-law come up to my room for a few minutes before the tour pickup; they had to wait in the lobby with no AC. One day, they let me know they were cutting the water off from 11 am, and they did not know until when, but assured me that at night we would have it normally. We did. Location: 3/5: The hotel is close to the centre, you can Uber there, and it takes around 5-7 min. The surrounding area is ok, I would not walk alone at night though. However, it's centric enough to be included in most pickup spots for almost any tour you can get in Cartagena, which is helpful. Overall 3/5. It’s an ok hotel if you only want a place to sleep and you’ll be away most of the time. Do not expect anything luxurious or super comfy. It’s a plain hotel, with a good bed, a clean room, located almost at the edge of a good area. For the price and everything mentioned above, I would not stay here again.
