Great view from the living room! Host is very friendly We got upgraded without extra charge because a big group privatised a part of the venue Venue has a unique history and is very committed to the local community
The village itself is quite calm/remote, even though there are some cool walks nearby and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing is approx. 1h away. We liked it, but it depends what you're looking for. You can see the venue is an older building, but it adds to the charm.

Sandy is een hele fijne gastvrouw. Ze heeft veel energie en een zeer positieve uitstraling. We verbleven in de doctors residence. De kamer heeft een eigen badkamer en de zitkamer is groot met een mooi uitzicht op de berg. De ruimte zou heel geschikt zijn voor een gezin met kinderen. De 4 kamers en zitkamer en keuken kunnen worden afgeschermd zodat je heel privé kunt zijn.

We booked this accommodation at the last minute as we decided to go skiing for the weekend. While a little further from the ski-fields, Raetihi is a lovely spot and the views of the mountain were magnificent. But the best part of the accommodation was the lovely host, who was so welcoming and friendly. She even posted a bag that I left behind to me, which was so kind!
The shared bathrooms were very cold in the morning!

The host (Malcolm & his wife) were fantastic hosts. Couldn't do more to make you feel welcome and fulfil any needs. Hot Tube was great.
The property is very tired and requires a face lift. It did however meet all needs and expectations. So this is merely constructive feedback.
