Mountain View

The room is huge and nicely decorated, the bed is enormous and very comfy, and there is some daily cleanup (unless you're there on a Sunday...). The place is charming and comfortable, with both AC and hot water (the latter is usually more reliable in the evening than in the morning). La Gaulette is an ideal base for the South: it feels very authentic and yet has some decent dining options nearby, and it is conveniently close to the Morne, Chamarel, Tamarin etc.

The only drawback I can think of is the laundry machine. It is available for free, but it doesn't heat the water and just soaks everything in a large pot of cold water. This is obviously not very efficient.

Spacious room

Non stop barking dogs, although it is a general problem on the island

Great location to climb Le Morne Brabant. Everything we needed included. Walking distance from shops and restaurants, although we had a car anyway

Nothing. We felt the bed was very hard but that is a personal choice not a criticism
