Close to the metro and train stations. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

The location was prefect for what we needed on our overnight stay, as we had arrived in Paris at the Gare d'l est and were departing on Eurostar from the Gare Du Nord - both were in walking distance, which saved managing suitcases on the Metro. There is a Metro station a couple of minutes walk away, though, which was handy for getting about once we'd checked in. Breakfast was great, lots of variety and the food was tasty.

The room smelt bad when we arrived, and seemed to get worse when we turned up the air conditioning (to make it cooler as the room was hot.) As we weren't going to be in the room much we didn't complain and when we came back to the hotel in the evening we opened the window, which cooled the room and got rid of the smell, although it was quite noisy (as you would expect in Paris) there seemed to be bin lorries coming along the road every hour! There was only one towel per person (no hand towel) and the shower sprayed out of the cubicle (it didn't have a door) so all towels were soaking wet once we had showered, leaving nothing to dry hands on after using the toilet. Although it didn't affect us, I was surprised to read that they charge for luggage storage - I thought this came as standard if you are booked into the hotel that night, or have stayed the night before, If we had arrived before check-in and wanted to leave after check-out time it would have cost us an additional 12 Euros. I'm also not sure how they worked out the city tax (it was 11 Euro and some cents, for a one night stay. We'd stayed in another Paris hotel a couple of week's earlier and two nights city tax had only been 16 Euro something which is puzzling as to why it was more than half of the cost at Ibis as at the other property. We probably wouldn't stay here again.
