    When making the booking, we chose a room with a double and two SINGLE beds. Upon arrival in the afternoon, the office was unattended despite the office hours being until 6pm. We had to call through and self checkin at a kiosk, which was confusing, but we got there in the end. When we found our room (at the top of the stairs, with the smoking section literally at our front door), we opened the door and found that the beds were in fact rickety bunk beds, and not single beds as per our booking. As one of our children has recently had her third surgery on her feet and unable to climb ladders, and our youngest child too small for bunk beds, we called the hotel and instead was answered by a "third party remote worker" - she told us she doesn't even work there, only occasionally answers their phones from her house?? Anyways, we explained our situation, and that the booking specifically said SINGLE beds and NOT bunk beds, and she said she would call the owners to ask if they could swap us to another room. When she eventually called back, we were rudely told NO, the motel was fully booked (this was after 5pm, the carpark was more than 3/4 empty and there was no sign of a No Vacancy sign?) and there was no other choice. We didn't know what to do - two children who cannot sleep in a bunk bed and two adults who weren't game to either as they did not look right. She suggested we cancel our booking, find somewhere else to go and put in the request to the owner for a refund, explaining the situation. We did just that - and have spent 2 days back and forth with the booking agent and owner who have flat our REFUSED to refund our booking, despite the fact what we booked and paid for - a double and two SINGLE beds (NOT bunk beds) was not provided. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Plenty of other hotels in the local area deserve your money more than these con artists. The icing on the cake was walking out the door, hobbling our kids and luggage back down the stairs, through the fog of cigarette smoke right outside the door. It was *chefs kiss*.
