Even on a grey March day, the setting of Gidleigh Park is memorably beautiful. The house itself smells benignly of woodsmoke and exudes old-fashioned comfort, reflected in the warmth of welcome from the staff. Our small room had a bathroom almost the same size and was generously equipped with everything you might desire: water, L’Occitane smellies, fruit, dessert wine, delectable chocolates, squishy pillows, robes - what you will. I spotted an iron in the cupboard, which also had padded hangers.
The food was ( as you would expect from its stars) delicious in every way and the wine list was inviting. Service was both elegant and unstuffy. Wincing at the price cannot take away from any of this.

What a fantastic hotel. Beautiful inside and out. The hotel was decorated for Christmas and was beautiful. Food was unbelievably good and served with great knowlwdge. Staff were atentive but not over bearing. Our room was lovely. Toiletries provided were gorgeous L'Octaine.
The only complzint is the road getting to the property. I have never seen so many pot holes! I know technically not the hotels fault but some warning in email may of been helpful!

The ambience the quiet polite service set in a beautiful location. Warm fires fireside seating with wonderful views, great dining experience with fabulous food.
Nothing to dislike apart from the pre dinner drinks experience …maybe need to upgrade the salted nuts! … maybe some delicious canapés!

Super location. Really comfortable room. Nice ambience with lots of Xmas decorations. Open fires initially then for some reason not lit later in our stay
The lunch and dinner menus. Meagre portions overpriced and uninteresting.
