Nice boutique hotel on the edge of lake Suwa. Well appointed, spacious Japanese style rooms and nice onsen facilities. Loved the view of the lake.
The onsen facilities required you to bring your own bath towel from the room, which was not made clear at the outset, so I had to go back and get it.

The location of Kamisuwa Onsen Shinyu is wonderful. Our room oversaw Lake Suwa and we had easy access to the city. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional - and came with a card describing each item. A very nice idea. We really enjoyed the public bath and took advantage of the massage service the hotel offers. The bus tour for nightly viewing of cherry blossoms at at Takashima castles was a welcome additions, as was the tour to the local shrines. The room, besides overseeing the lake, was spacious and very nicely appointed. Hotel staff was friendly, always polite and helpful - very professional with a personal touch. We loved our stay.
There was nothing we did not like. We felt welcome and appreciated.
