We love this quaint little pub SMS have stayed before. We came with my elderly father to visit my elderly Aunt travelling over 300 miles from Suffolk to Devon. The accommodation was lovely and we’ve been before because it’s close to where Aunt lives and is dog friendly. Unfortunately we couldn’t bring my aunt there for lunch because she can’t climb the steps up into the pub. I do love it here though.

Lovely clean and nice atmosphere.
Open fire and welcoming staff.
Really pleasant stay, well worth the money. Lovely and quiet location to relax.
Parking was an issue but not the fault of the pub it’s just the location.

We haven’t stayed here for about 10 years, but it was still really nice. The hosts were really nice people and very welcoming
The continental breakfast wasn’t continental at all- no cooked meats, just cereal, toast, and a coupe of pastries. This should be including the room rate, not charged at an additional £11.50 per person. Not good at all.
The room needed a good dusting, and the cobwebs removed. The extract fan in the tiny shower room didn’t extract.

It was amazing stuff already friendly.
The only downside was that we couldn’t get a taxi to our venue as it wasn’t any available as it was so remote.

Big bedroom
Breakfast was not included. A continental breakfast was offered but at £10 or £11 each we declined
Shame as we stayed here as paty of a 2 day walk.
Limited menu but great if you love a pie although they didn't look great and the pub closes at 8pm Sundays with nowhere else to go.

We stayed in the garden suite which is a really nicely designed space. The bed was comfortable.
No working shower and no WiFi. Parts of it need redecorating.

Convenient to Crediton and lovely individual rooms.
No parking. But there was a public car park a short walk away. Would have liked the option to include breakfast in the price. There was nowhere local to get breakfast.

We was able to check in early, given directions on a nice walk into Crediton. The room was comfortable with facilities needed for a nights stay.
The breakfast was lovely with milk straight from the cows in the village, warmed croissant waiting for us for scheduled breakfast time.
Good service and friendly staff.
Decor could do with brightening up, colour of the room was a bit dull. Just a personal preference but didn't affect my stay. ( I should have packed a make up light).

The room was clean and ok
The food menu was poor, lack of choice maybe my fault for not looking at more reviews before hand.

Nick the landlord was great, and looked after us very well. It is cosy and welcoming - dogs too - perfect village pub, with lovely rooms.
We would strongly recommend. Great place to stay and explore the area.
That it may be closing down 😞.

Absolute nit picking, but the bathroom door was squeaky. Nothing else was wrong.

Large, comfortable room with all the necessary equipment.
Dinner: very well-cooked, delicious food, friendly service and attentive. Good-sized portions.
Breakfast: Good continental style breakfast with ample portions and great coffee.
Very dog-friendly and clearly a well-supported pub. Will certainly recommend (and have) and go again. Just the right break en route to Cornwall - a frequent trip.
