The doors all close with a bang automatically. They have put some nice little notices on the inside of the room doors urging guests to close the doors quietly. Better than nothing (and certainly cheaper than changing all the door closers for a small family run hotel that probably has tight profit margins) but I doubt many guests even read it, let alone abide by it. Having said that, it wasn't a problem on this occasion although I believe there weren't many guests this time. Breakfast was okay. Room was okay. Bathrooms are a good size. Disappointing that, having been assured that the bar would be open, and the literature saying that the bar is open 24 hours for residents, that upon returning from the town at about half past midnight, the night porter/barman told me the bar was closed. Okay, he saved me from a worse hangover in the morning, but it wasn't what I wanted to hear at the time and wasn't how it was sold. Shame as I'd enjoyed a late couple of pints on my previous stay a year earlier. So, all in all, a few niggles, but the basics were acceptable.

A great place for a one night stopover if traveling through the area and for a longer stay if visiting the area and only a short drive to Exeter and many other places of interest.

A pleasant hotel much like a premier Inn. We booked a Deluxe room. It was a nice size, the bed was very comfortable. Would recommend for a stopover Buffet breakfast ok.
