Scandic Kristiansand Bystranda

Booked a superior suite with bathtub as i dont have at home and Wanted to relax. Overpriced room, but thought it would be worth it. Arrieved at the room and its small, no bathtub and tv is stuck to the wall and you cannot watch tv from bed. I tried to call down to reception, but the number down was nowhere to be found. Ended up using my phone instead. I state my problem and said what i ordered. The receptionist tried to cut me off and was very rude. I asked if there was something that could be done. Change rooms, downgrade to a room with bathtub or get compensated, non of which the receptionist would agree to and kept repeating that the Hotel only had bathtub in a couple rooms. I then asked why they put on their page that if you choose superior room you get bathtub and that its false marketing. She then tried to cut me off again and tried hanging up on me. I kept asking if they could help me find a solution, but there was no chance. No rooms available and it was my fault as customer that i ordered the most expencive room and that they only could give bathtub if i was lucky. I got upset and asked to speak to the manager. She said, go ahead and call if you want and hung up the phone. I was furious and was about to go down to the reception when the hotelroom phone rang and She said they found a bathtub but i had to downgrade. I went down and they give me a new Key to a smaller room. The receptionist then told me, since you chose to downgrade we will not give you conpensation for anything as its your fault. I was seriously upset, but decided not to make a scene and just took the keys and went to the room. Later in the evening we wanted a drink and the bartender used 30 minutes before serving us and when he asked another girl that worked there to help him, She said sorry in busy cleaning. He said its nothing to clean, but She ignored him. The drinks were mixed with the wrong ingredients but at that point we didnt care. Back at the room the water from the sink and shower smelles like sewer and very nasty. The tv was set to only use certain chanels and no apps like Netflix. When we left and handed in the keys the next morning, the same receptionist was there and She just ignored us and didnt event say goodbye. Terrible, terrible service and we will never ever go back. With this service Scandic hotels will never be on our list of hotels ever again.

Everything is ok except lacking water boiler in the room. Wont recommend for who are tea and coffe lover. You have to go down in the reception for warm water.Not convenient

Very simple. Like a hostel for families but clean, well organized. Perfect for a family on the budget.

With a room overlooking the waterfront I knew exactly where I was in the world. Superb Scandic breakfast and a discount at the fabulous swimming pools next door made for a great base in Kristiansand
