Brilliant, just wish it had been longer. If I repeat the trip I will definitely be booking this hotel again.

Everything! The hotel was grand inside, with a lovely terrace out front with amazing views of the mountains. There was also a great looking terrace at the back but my stay wasn’t long enough to try it out. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the food was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable (also with great views). I’ve stayed in many hotels across Europe over the last 30 years and this is my favourite so far! I only booked the hotel for an overnight stop on the way to Italy, and principally for its proximity to the Stelvio Pass. If I had known how nice the hotel was beforehand, I would have booked it for the return leg.

Google Maps sent me on a wild goose chase, but that’s not the hotel’s fault!

Good location, that’s about it. Old, dated, uncomfortable, riddled with flies expensive. In desperate need of a refresh, but can’t see it ever happening…

Absolutely dreadful, horrendous and infested with flies

Nothing, it was terrible

Room was very basic and very tired, toilet was under the eaves and so couldn’t stand up in bathroom. Room was very expensive, guy behind reception was very ignorant and uninterested. Restaurant was infested with flies, all over your body and food, it was disgusting. Do not stay here, ever. The breakfast was very poor, very limited and once again infested with flies.Never stay here.

Good location and very friendly helpful staff. Food was good..

Unfortunately the rooms were quite poor with no additional plug sockets other than the bedside table lamps. The hotel and dining room was full of flies which made eating dinner almost impossible and unfortunately either the local farmers were muck spreading or there was a problem with the hotel sewer facilities as the smell made sitting outside impossible. Overall, a very expensive stay that was not pleasant. Definitely not good value for money

Very pleasant we’re it not for the horrendous traffic.

Breakfast was quite good. Food in the restaurant could be better. We liked the old fashioned furniture in the dining area . However the bedroom was very modern und reasonable well equipped

We would have liked a teas-made. The location would be wonderful, however the traffic which is horrendous during the summer months. Santa Maria needs a by-pass urgently

The hotel is located in a small village which has a couple of restaurants & cafes. The hotel itself is very well looked after, offers very nice food & is full of history, well worth a meander around spotting all the paintings & artifacts. Ideally situated for the Stelvio Pass.

Enjoyable stay in a well-located hotel; comfortable room with great views.

The hotel is well-located and easy to find on the edge of the village of Santa Maria. There is plenty of free parking right across from the hotel. Our room was comfortable and had a nice balcony with great views over the valley.

The hotel has a lot of traditional furniture and plenty of charm, which we liked, but some areas such as bathrooms should be renovated. The buffet breakfast was OK but choices were rather limited. Considering the price of the room, we expected more variety.

Young female was very good at English and translated menu.

Hotel was very dated, was meant to be upgraded but standard low. Hotel and room had a musty. Breakfast was poor, very little of everything and flies everywhere! Had dinner and drinks and price was very high!

We will certainly be back

Breakfast was excellent. First buffet for ages. Very nice, traditional Swiss breakfast. Perfect! The restaurant uses locally raised beef, which was really good. We tried to find the local farm to take some home with us.

Parking was a bit limited, we had to park on the street outside the hotel, not a problem though.

Beautiful building. Old furnishings. Library. Piano. Game room. Really quaint and special. Large sparkling clean tub that invited me to take a relaxing and wonderful soak! Breakfast was good and the setting for breakfast was beautiful.

We had a top floor room with eaves protruding into room. My partner is 6'4" and could not easily use the toilet because it was underneath a protruding eave! Like many beds in the Tyrol region, the comforters and mattresses were separate even though it was set up as a double bed. It's really not conducive to romantic travel to have an indent in the middle of the bed and two separate single size comforters.

That place was beautiful. Traditional turn of the century decor moves you back in time. Astonishing view from our window made our stay unforgettable. Room was very clean and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was okay. Very friendly and helpful stuff.

Trotz des teilweise regnerischen Wetters, hatte ich einen schönen Kurzaufenthalt.

Das Hotel liegt gleich Ausgangs des Dorfes und hat hoteleigene Parkplätze. Das Hotel ist ehrwürdig alt, aber mit schönen Zimmern. Auch das Einzelzimmer wies genügend Platz auf. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und hat mit ein grösseres Einzelzimmer gegeben, da ich meinen Hund dabei hatte. Da im Val Müstair Feuerwerksverbot gilt, hatte auch mein Hund einen schönen Aufenthalt.

Wenn man schlechtem Wetter das Frühstück nicht draussen essen kann, wird es etwas schwierig, da im Saal keine Hunde erlaubt sind (was ich auch nachvollziehen kann).

Freundlich gegenüber Motorradfahrern, guter Ausgangspunkt für Motorradtouren. Wunderschönes altes Haus mit viel Charme. Tolles Frühstücksbuffet. Ein Ersatzladegerät für mein Handy hatte die Reception griffbereit, und kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt. Vielen Dank.

Der Fernseher hat kaum funktioniert. Hängt vermutlich mit dem schwachen W-Lan zusammen. Warum hat es am Frühstücksbuffet keinen Käse aus der Region?

Außergewöhnlich schöne Bausubstanz des historischen Hotels. Wirklich besonders freundlicher Gastgeber. Zimmerausstattung prinzipiell Basic mit aber hervorragendem Sanitär-Bereich. Beeindruckende Lese-/ Rückzugsräume (mit Klavier wer will oder kann). Preis für die Schweiz völlig o.k. Tolles Abendessen. Laut Booking mit Balkon, tatsächlich aber ohne. Eher Booking-Problem? Aber völlig irrelevant, da sowieso tolle Terrasse, dann später zu kalt für Balkon. Motorrad auf eigenem Parkplatz gut abzustellen.
