The boutique hotel gives a very European feel with nice and cozy rooms. The staff is very friendly and cooperative. The food too is good, though options for vegetarians are limited. Location is good with Galle, Mirissa and Weligama not too far away. Nice sundowner cafés very close by do explore them. Thank you for a wonder stay 👍🏻

We loved our stay here! The views of the Ahangama coast are breathtaking, and you’ll get to enjoy stunning sunsets every day. The room size is massive with high ceilings and a chic design. Breakfast options are also fantastic!

Don't get me wrong- Mosvold Villa is a lovely place to stay. We enjoyed our three nights here and didn't have any major complaints. However, after staying at 9 hotels throughout Sri Lanka, this hotel fell short in a few ways. Starting out with the good, you can't beat the views from this property. The sunsets were incredible, and the pool and lounge chairs are great spots for chilling all day and catching the sunset in the evening. There's a nice beach that's super close, and you can sometimes walk to that beach depending on the tide. The security guard/parking attendant with the bright smile was another highlight of our stay. He always warmly greeted us, helped cover our tuktuk when it started to rain, and assisted us with directions. His energy was just incredible. I didn't catch his name, but he deserves some recognition! The room itself was very spacious and comfortable. We loved the balcony overlooking the pool. We also appreciated the hotel decorating our room the first day for our honeymoon. The cookies delivered to our room the first day were also a sweet touch. Now, the cons. Despite ordering different items each day, we were unimpressed by breakfast each time. We had far better breakfasts during our trip, even at way cheaper hotels. We considered getting dinner at the property our first night but after seeing the steep prices and hearing a nearby table complain about their food, we decided to go elsewhere. The food is definitely not a highlight here. Also, the bathroom area had a musty, sweaty smell. It was only in one spot, but it was quite pungent to me. The shower also could have used a deeper clean, as there was mildew building up in the corners. Finally, I felt like the staff could have been a bit friendlier. I didn't feel the Sri Lankan hospitality that I experienced at most other places at Mosvold Villa. Had the room been cheaper, I may not have cared about these shortcomings. However, for the price, I expected more from the property.
