Birch Motel Bowen Previously Known as Bowen Arrow Motel

We did not have any meals available at the motel, we generally travel with our own meals / snacks. we are return guests at this motel as the motel is around halfway between home and our destination.

We are return guests at this motel and have noted over the years that there are a number of minor maintenance issues that never seem to get tidied up. On this visit we were given room 4 and shared our room with a number of large black ants, The milk in the small packet in the refrigerator was 2 days past use by date. The old disused box style air conditioner should be removed and the hole covered up; this will make the room look a whole lot tidier. It was obvious that there was at some time a security chain available at the door, the chain part on the wall remained but the door attaching point had been removed.

I stayed at this motel when it was Bow and Arrow I travel from Bundy to Townsville a lot and I like to make this a stop if it’s getting towards night time I’m on the pension so I look for a good price This time I arrived late so I didn’t see any staff but the previous time I met the nice staff I will stay there again

I’ve been in hospitality almost all my working life from family owned to 5 star Novotel mercury and from Emerald Townsvill longreach Darwin Kingaroy Canberra and Melbourne this motel only had one thing that i would comment on and that was the hand basin tap was extremely hard to turn on and off I know my maintenance people did the best they could if they were told about the things that needed to be attended to Sorry I didn’t leave a note for you I left very early I will see you again soon

Room was clean, nice bed, water hot, all that I need.
