Dormy Inn Premium Hakata Canal City Mae

It was modern. I especially enjoyed the hot spring.

There is another Dormy inn couple blocks away. We accidentally put the wrong one in.

The staff was amazing. They even brought us a wheelchair to borrow when my partner hurt her knee. The onsen and free snacks was a nice touch

We chose this hotel because we were quite familiar with Dormy chain, and this location was right next to the entrance of the building connecting to the main Canal City. Unfortunately, that building was closed for renovation during my stay (not sure how long), so we needed to walk a bit outside to access Canal City. It’s not too bad, but main purpose was a failure, haha. However, other than that, it’s good for almost every aspect. Although this hotel was a bit smaller than other Dormy hotels we had stayed in so far, this one was very convenient for subway access. My family stayed there for 4 nights, which was great. Onsen was good, then followed by free ice cream. Maybe this room should be expanded for seating as we had nowhere to sit and talk to my kids while enjoying ice cream waiting for my wife to finish up from onsen. Later at night, we came down again for free half-sized ramen provided. My room was adequate in size and space. Amenities were good with our favorite Pola body soap and shampoo. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were easy and fast.

Free ice-cream/yogurt drink / comic reading area should be expanded and providing tables/seats for hotel guests. Last time, I needed to stand enjoying my ice cream with my kids while waiting for my wife from onsen.

We had to make a last minute change to our reservation, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. We really appreciated their care during a moment of changing plans.
