I liked that the check-in was fast and efficient, Tui greeted me with a smile and friendly service. Parking was available right outside our room. Procedures for after hours were explained and information papers given for gate access and WiFi password. Our room #11 was well presented, clean and tidy. We got to enjoy a spa and shower option, to which we had both in the same night and again in the morning. What i most liked about this accommodation was that it was situated right across the road from our concert Te Wehi was holding at the Baycourt Arts and Festival Centre. Not to mention the availabilty at just 3 weeks change of venue short notice. Price for our 1night stay through booking.com was affordable at $183.50 which i thought was a steal. All food and beverage amenities were only a 3min walk down the road toward the Strand and waterfront. This definitely made it easy to make dinner reservations at the local restaurant and bar The Barrel Room. Thier service was amazing and our host Jay was awesome. Very comfortable, cosy sleep and stay. Our overall vibe was relaxing, comfortable, family friendly and the ultimate Tauranga City break at a top notch location and unbeatable tauranga convenience for leisure.

There was just one minor thing that could have made this stay for me a 10. The spa sign in the bathroom had a small bit of mould on the bottom left corner.I was tempted to clean this and i normally would have but it should have been tended to during cleaning. Hopefully in the future these little details won't be overlooked.

It was great location - easy walk to the food precinct and to the promenade. Even with the roadworks in the area it was still easy to access and we had a parking space next to our room.

The photos reflected rooms that seemed a lot fresher than reality. I accept that it is an older style motel complex, but the photos depicted very bright, fresh rooms ... I was also disappointed that there was a cheap plastic kettle, plastic utensils and worn teflon frypan. I resorted to boiling water on the ancient electric hob in a saucepan, which took a really long time. I get that some cost savings have to be made with what is supplied, but I am sure there are inexpensive stainless steel kettles available to the industry - plastic (especially when heated) is very toxic.
