Beautiful rooms. Amazing views. Wonderful employees. Super friendly and helpful. Great location. On the main road so a lot of our tour operators could pick us up from the hotel. Lives up to the splendid name

Great location near Fira but quiet and private. Also walking distance to Imerovigli. A really big room and bathroom. A tasty breakfast. Super nice & helpful staff. A beautiful view (not the caldera but a sea view to the other side of the island). We really liked the atmosphere.
We had a wonderful private swimming pool, but the water is already cold in October. We knew that and it is not a minus.

The private pools in the junior suites were a nice touch.
Welcome bottle of wine was lovely.
Good location, making it easy to navigate the island.
The breakfast felt like a high school cafeteria - large variety of food, but low quality. Dirty plates. Very dated decor and furniture. Coffee and juices from a machine (not fresh).
Hard to locate - trucks often blocking the entrance and no signage on street. Took us circling for 45 minutes to find the entrance.
Small amount of parking offered, often resulting in double parking of cars.
Our original room (superior room) was not clean. Hair in the shower, stains on the walls. The hotel manager was kind enough to upgrade us to a junior suite which was much better, however at a '5 star' property, all rooms should meet a certain level of cleanliness and comfort.
Hotel staff seemed disgruntled and disinterested in being there.
