Wylie Court Motor Lodge

We really enjoyed staying here. We had everything we needed. The only downside was that the walls are not insulated and we could hear the people in the other apartments banging and talking late into the night & early morning.

Room was very nice, with own private hot spring pool. Couch could do with replacing & downstairs needs some cupboards/drawers for putting your clothes. Hot spring pool was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend.

We recently stayed in Unit 8 at Wylie Court Motel. My cousin and I paid just over $*** per night, which we considered to be a premium price. Unfortunately, we felt the unit did not reflect that standard and is in serious need of refurbishment and some care and attention. The unit felt tired and dated. The fridge/freezer wobbled, and while having a freezer is appreciated, accessing it was awkward. The crockery was a mismatched collection of different plates, bowls and cups, which gave the kitchen a neglected feel. The microwave had no operating instructions and flashed continuously throughout the night, which was distracting. Being located underneath the stairs made the unit quite dark, and there appeared to be three different types of carpet throughout. The carpet on the stairs has seen much better days, and given the steep staircase, the worn condition could become a safety hazard. The spa access door was difficult both to open and to lock. However, the plunge pool was nice to soak in. While the bathroom appeared surface clean, it was obvious that it was overdue for a thorough deep clean, particularly behind the bathroom door. We mentioned this to staff and hope it has since been addressed for future guests. We left the motel around 10:00 am and returned at approximately 2:00 pm on a cold, wet day to find our room had not been serviced. When I asked the cleaners, I was told they would attend to occupied rooms only after finishing the rooms for departing guests and asked whether we needed anything. For the price we paid, we expected a full daily service. Instead, fresh towels were left on the bed and the rubbish was emptied, but the room itself was not serviced. The upstairs bedroom also lacked a bedside light switch, meaning you have to get out of bed to turn the light off. Overall, the unit felt sad, tired and run down. We noticed the impressive new building in front of the pool, which looks almost complete, and from the advertising it appears some units have already been renovated. Unfortunately, Unit 8 has not, and paying a premium rate for an older, unrefurbished unit was disappointing. If you are considering staying here, I would recommend asking when booking whether you are being allocated one of the refurbished units, as this could make a significant difference to your experience.
